We have the gap in our front curbside cover. It allows leaves to settle in, as the lower seal seems to hold everything in. I just clean it inside the cover, a couple of times a year. I'm following along even though I have the FB. There's a fair amount in common. (14" tires..)
Hope you find a fix for the gap-itis, and post it here.

Ours has the same gap. I tried using 1/2 inch foam pipe insulation. The problem is that the gap is not consistant. It is annoying and we are looking for an answer also

We have a 2016 23d and found that the front curtains were a pain to close at night. We ended up installing a shade on the center part of the front wrap around window. It makes it easier to close up at night.

The problem with my GFI turned out to be the outside 120V plug, ran a small heater blowing into it for a few hours and it dryed out. Anyone replaced the factory cover with one that is a bit more waterproof?

One little mod I did was to add some insulation to the wall in the fridge compartment on the aft side, the closet now stays a bit cooler, was getting a lot of heat transfer. Quick and easy and MAY help the A/C in our warm Texas summers!

Glad you solved the GFI problem.

Can you give us the source of the insulation you used? That's certainly a worthwhile project... the closet was does get toasty.

The insulation I used was a frostking product from Home Depot for A/C and heater ducts, it is self adhesive and has seemed to stay put very well for about three months, including some very warm days in south Texas, right now in Colorado so it has seen temps from hi 90s to 17 with no signs of coming loose. I have also put a strip above and am watching it closely as I could not find a true max temp rating for it.
As for the outlet cover I will look at a few sealed covers in a few days when I go to Denver to do some shopping, if it rains before then I will tape it up to keep water out.

The main reason I did the fan upgrade i posted above was to eliminate that heat transfer. Now I can't even tell, barely any heat buildup.

The insulation idea is a good one, and I would watch to make sure it can handle the heat.

I had a product I want sure about so I tested it myself. I needed it to withstand 160 degree max. I used my heat gun set at 500. It melted. Turned it down incrementally and used heat o 300 and it withheld. So I knew it was good at 160.

The wrong rates insulation could cause a great danger. I would call the manufacturer and try to track that down or test the limits yourself.

Thanks, CruisinDux, I’m seldom original, but I can copy a good idea in a heartbeat. I liked the way the 20-footer thread was specific to that floorplan but not by year or interior finish. The 23 can be a Safari, a Flying Cloud, or an International, but the problems, solutions and upgrades are the same. Mazoolah’s idea of combining all models of a specific floorplan into one thread got this thread started, and the 23D owners and other interested forum members have kept it going. You’re right - there are some talented people on here – and I’ll be copying their ideas, too!

I only realized that there is not enough room to close the bathroom door when sitting on the toilet after taking delivery. I either put my legs in the shower or close the room separated and leave the door open. I'm 5'11" 180lbs.

Question, shouldn't this thread be named "23 Footers" rather than "The 23D Thread" because then it encompasses the 23FB and 23D Bunk also?

I think it was pcskier who suggested starting a 23FB thread, an idea which seemed to make some sense IMO, because the floor plans are quite different. Having two threads would prevent confusion and having to explain differences to newcomers.

BTW it would take a moderator to change the title of this thread probably.

I did a quick and dirty burn test, took about 3 minutes to get to the flame stage two inches above a propane flame, at about 250f in an outdoor oven the adhesive started getting soft (took it up in 25 degree increments from 150 to 300) so I feet safe at 175, if it gets much hotter in there than that I have a real problem! I am going to look for a better material to put on the upper surface, closest to the heat source. When I called Frost King they would only say it was intended to be used on heater ducts, up to about 150f, I may call them again. I am planning on a small exhast fan blowing out the upper part of the top door before summer.
