Has anybody really tested the true capacity of this tank?

I know the fresh hold a little more than 39gal but that doesn’t account for the full tube in the size of the tank.

It sounds like you just did test the true capacity. Assuming your gauge is accurate. Have you tested that with a gallon jug?

I think our 23s are supposed to be 18 gallons?

I recall a thread where someone measures the fresh tank and found it to be somewhat less than 39 gallons.

Either way I don’t really care. Neither capacity would have impacted my purchase decision. But it is curious that Airstream would maintain specifications that are not reflective of actual.

Yeah after I posted this I pulled out my gauge and filled a 1gal jug almost to the brim and measured 0.9gal. So the gauge is accurate as the jug had about the difference at the top to make the gallon. Yes the 23 says it’s an 18 gal tank I double checked the airstream site as well.

The capacity would still not sway my decision between this and the 25 we originally were looking to purchase. I absolutely love our 23 and would not trade it for any other size. It fits our lifestyle and with 2 adults 2 teenage boys and 2 dogs it only gets cramped when stuck inside. We live out of it not in it. And when the boys are gone off with friends and family it is GREAT for the 2 of us and the dogs.

I have an ‘18 FC23CB, no bunk. I also measured the volume of my tanks by pouring water in. My results were:
Black tank - 14 gal (level was still below toilet)
Gray tank - 22 gal (shower drain full)
So I would say my black tank volume is consistent with yours.

12 years ago I bought a new car. Someone discovered that the gas tank wasn't as big as the manufacturer said it was on the window sticker, and filed a lawsuit and won. A year after I bought the car, I got a $400 compensation check in the mail. Owners also had the option of selling the car back to them. I still have the car. The gas tank is tiny.

Hi we have a 2019 23CB International and last week when we used the trailer, we hadn’t used it in about three months the lights under the kitchen cabinet where the sink is did not work. The lights in the cabinet work fine as well as everything else in our trailer. I checked all fuses, verified the light switch works with my multimeter. While I had the switch out I checked the power coming from the leads and no 12 volts. The leads behind the switch next to it that lights the cabinet lights has 12 volts. Can anyone recommend where or what else I can do to solve this? Thanks in advance.
Yes I did a search here and on google.

CPAP Placement

For those of you with 23D models and have a CPAP machine. Where do you place your machine and where are you plugging it in?

Hey Steve... Did I tell you that my son lives in Centennial? He's on Progress Drive. No Airstream, though. He's a '87 Pathfinder kind of guy!

PS: I don't use a CPAP, so I'm pretty much worthless when it comes to answering your question.

Howdy fellas - happy new year! Not much to report on the 23D, took it out to far West Texas and spent a week in Big Bend over Thanksgiving (everything worked great). Did finally get my new truck after a long wait, first camping trip President’s weekend in late Feb. Going to start the electric adventure slow, has plenty of towing capacity (11k lbs) but the range will be the limiting factor (cuts vehicle range by -~50%). Kept my current rig for the long hauls … will keep you guys posted on what I think

My wife uses one, it sits at the foot of the bed on a small step stool. There is a plug by the right side closet that we use when pluged into power. I added a 12V outlet at the foot of the bed when boondocking. Will get a picture or two this afternoon after church.

PS I worked at the Centennial Airport for a few years on a project, lived out in Saddlerock.

Steve,
As, I said we added a 12V outlet on the little flat panel between the bed and curbside closet, easy to tap onto 12V under the bed or run wire to the fuse block to an unused 10A fuse. There is a wall 120V outlet adjacent to the closet for using when hooked up to shore power. I use a 12V power supply direct to the CPAP for use when off grid so the inverter is not in use all night, does not drain the batteries nearly as quickly.
Hope this helps

Carole uses a Resmed and the hoses that came with it. Total length 90 inches from center of the outlet on the machine to the nose pillow.
Do you eat at the Perfect Landing often? Good food and a great place to plane watch.

We would love to make it back to Vallecito this year, but we really don't know yet... Yes, I know, we had better get to making decisions pretty soon, or there will be no place to stay!

My knee replacement and the horror story (pulmnory embolism, not the new knee!) that followed kept us from traveling last year up until the last week of September when we managed a week in Galveston.

Steve, do you know of any good places (with full hook ups) to stay near Centennial that don't involve much driving in the Denver traffic?

Rob - Cherry Creek State Park. They are always full and you do have to reserve way in advance. Also, Chatfield State Park...easier to get into but always busy. Let me know when you are coming this way

Mattress

Have any of the 23 gang replaced the mattress? I have looked at the ones from Airstream supply, Southern comfort and a few others but hard to decide without more input than a picture! We spend 80 to 100 days a year in the trailer and ours has started to sack out in the middle.

Mattress Insider always seems to get good reviews.
