Side door behind the axle

Did Airstream ever produce a trailer that had its door to the rear of the axle rather than the front like most Airstreams do? I have a picture of a 2 door vintage unit up at Jackson Center but I'm curious about a trailer with a single door.

Regards,

Jack

Jack,
I have sales information from 87, 88, 89 which shows an optional rear door on the 32' excella model only. Was not shown in the 90 and later model years. Have seen two or three over the years with both doors but do not belive they ever offered a rear door only.

My interest would be in the trailers in the vintage range. I have someone here at work who says his dad has an old small A/S with a single door behind the axle. I'm a little skeptical that it truly is an Airstream. That's why I asked the question.

Thumbs up Rear Door

Hello Jack.
The answer is yes, at least in the form of an Argosy. We originally were looking for a 22' Argosy to mate with our Nissan. We looked at 2, 1972 22' Argosy's that had a rear door. ( only one door ). The advantage was that the interior was "open concept" Rear bath, dinette on the curb side and couch across the front. Very roomy. Small Argosy's in the early 70's were popular here in Ontario.
