Need help with finding date of manufacture
Hello, I'm new here. Does anyone know how I can find the date of manufacture and model of my 22' vintage airstream using a serial #? I think it's a safari around 1956 but I'm not sure...

Yep. There is a great archive resource for referencing vintage trailers, years of manufacture and models...see this: Photo Archives
If you need help, post your Serial/VIN number and someone will jump in...1956 Safari numbers range from O-6300 to O-6433, ours is O-624. If yours turns out to be a mid-50's Safari, let me know...I'm trying to keep a log of those that still exist. Regardless, welcome to the forums!
Also, post pictures if you get a chance, we all like to check them out!

Looks like its a California built 1954 Flying Cloud according to RJ's archive page. This doesn't get you off the hook of posting some pictures though.

Thanks Brad:
Ok, I'm going to try to attach some pictures. It's in pretty rough shape and needs a lot of work... It has a center bathroom, is this unusual?

The skin looks to be in good shape. You need a new window frame for the front curbside and a compartment door. How's the interior?
I like the center bath floor plan.

Another airstream
Hi :
Thanks for all your help! We have another airstream, and we are trying to figure out which one to keep. This one has a tag that says:
18D - 0236
Santa Fe Springs, CA
859
This trailer is 18 ft. Any info you have would be a great help!
Thanks, Mike

The center bath isn't that unusual, but the back window configuration is. Usually, the split/stacked windows like that indicate that it may have (or had) bunks. THAT would be unusual...got any interior pics of the rear portion?
Brad's right, the skins look pretty good - nothing a little (or lot?) TLC couldn't bring back to life. The biggest issue is the missing compartment door, bent window frame and the water damage that may have resulted from all the missing glass.
Shari
P.S. Ours is O-6424...I left out a number before.
