Gray holding tank issue

I am camping and my gray tank overflowed into the floor. I emptied it to halfway and used no water. This morning it was overflowed again. The sensor says half full. What is going on? No water was used since emptying quite a bit out. How is it filling up? Camping now please help

Strange!

Do any of your taps leak?

Gray holding tank issue

No taps are leaking at the faucet I just emptied some of the water into the woods as an emergency situation. It is clear gray only of course.

Gray holding tank issue

I just emptied it to gold color on the micro board. My concern is what is filling it if no faucets or the shower being used? I can edit out that mess as I have done but the initial post has it.

Check your toilet. Something could be holding the flush valve down, causing it to run.

Would I not see water in the toilet running though? No water is running or dripping.

Gray holding tank issue

It is a bigger problem I went out side and looked under the trailer I have dripping from the edges of the pan around the tanks. Something is obviously leaking and filling the tank at the same time. Thank God it is only the shower overflowing. My emptying of the tank partially made it burp some and the water is out of the shower for now.

Ok troubleshooter types, what could fill a gray tank if no water was emptying into the drains inside the trailer?

Is it possible that IF you are hooked to "city" water, the check valve on the 12V is not working and it would fill the tank?

I am sure you know the difference between black and grey water, given that, don't believe the "scale" for how much of the tank is empty, why not leave the valve open all the time if you are camping with a site with the correct hookups? You may only to need to empty the tank all the way, your drain pipes might be full and need more room to drain. Since there is no direct line from fresh water to your grey tank, it must be backed up. I had a similar problem one time and there was a obstruction in the drain of the shower that would not let the drain do its job, I have no idea how it got in there. Is it also possible if your black tank is completely full, it can "bleed" into the grey water and it would appear to be grey water?

Thanks. I am at a site with only water hook up and not using fresh water tank at all. I went ahead and emptied the gray tank to green on the monitor but what bothers me is that I did this last night and used no water after doing so.

Disconnect city water and check, possibly a bad check valve in the water pump allowing backflow.

Ok there is water in the shower drain still after emptying quite a bit from the tank. The standing water in the shower is gone but there is some type of obstruction somewhere. I disconnected the city water but what is a check valve?

A check valve prevents flow from one line to another (ie) city water can/t flow through the pump backwards or into your fresh water tank, Each should have one.

I will look into that valve THANKS I reconnected the city water to take a shower and just found something else- the wall outlet in the shower has a steady stream of water flowing under it. The valve on the shower head was turned off but the rotating lever on the wall was left on! It was turned all the way to the left instead of right and since the on off valve on the shower head was in the off position, on or off the water went unnoticed. I hope this is the problem. Any thoughts on the dripping water from the frame/axle area? Just overflow soemwhere?

The toilet does not empty into the grey water tank.
The check valve in the pump only prevents the back flow of water to the house FW tank when hooked to city water. Also to prevent backflow when the water heater creates pressure as it will when you heat up the water.
Do you have the "flushing system" on your coach?
That is where you can flush the tanks to clean them out.
Are you sure you have the city water connected to the correct inlet? That's if you have the flushing systems.

Yes the city water is connected to the blossom connector with the regulator. I also use an inline regulator. I hope my last post is the reason for this mess. I do not have easy flush just the regular two valve pulls but I have a new valterra flush nozzle kit that I have never used.
