excella 500 32 foot?
I have a chance to get a Excella 500, stainless steel, 32 foot. I can't find any info on this. The current owner says it is an '86 Is there such a unit or where can I find the info on this.
Thanks to any who reply. I am going tomorrow to see it.

Welcome to the Forum
To my knowledge there was never a stainless steel. They have all been polished aluminum with a clear coat. An Excella would have a little different paint scheme such as a blue stripe down the side of it. The Airstream company also had a Limited but it had a Brown/Bronze stripe down the side of it. They did manufacture a 31 and 32'. They went to a 34 in later years with 3 axles.
Wish you luck.

Airstream made a great one that year. Before we switched to mo/hos, we had a 32'.

I have an '86 Sovereign that is 32 feet long. It's the same as an Excella in the body, but an Excella has a few upgrades. Make sure you look for soft spots on the floor. Mine had four LARGE rotten spots & I stupidly missed 3 of them. They were next to the couch in the front & under the beds in the back. I could only see under one bed & that's the one I knew was there before purchase. The water ran down the seam of the end segments to both sides. The trailer looked so nice to me, but I really screwed up by not taking alot of time to check for these rotten spots. Hours & hours later, we have them all fixed up. We love our trailer, but the sick feeling I got when I discovered those bad spots won't be forgotten! Be Careful!

As others have said, welcome to the forums. I have a 1987 32' Excella and it has been a great trailer for us. It is a little longer than I was initially looking for, but I have found the length not to be a problem at all. Let us know how your negotiations go.

We are going to look Thursday afternoon, just after lunch. I will be checking those areas for sure. He is giving me Maple hardwood flooring for the unit. I guess with the carpet up the bad spots should be easily seen. As to keeping you posted-- I am sure you might get tired of reading my messages. :-)

Well, we looked the Excella over yesterday and it needs a good cleaning and a change of a few interior things but overall, it is in great shape. We bought her and will be taking her home in a weeks time. We plan on changing the floor from carpet to hardwood ( like almost everyone else is doing). Looks like I joined the family.

Welcome to the Forums! I am thinking of going with cork flooring in my unit. I heard lots of good things about it from members here.
Enjoy your new adventure!
