Entry Door - Don't slam it!

When we traded our 2014 Classic for our new 2018 Classic we acquired a new problem. The entry door will not close properly. The dealer's answer was to "slam it" Not true. The door is/was not adjusted properly. Specifically the frame bolt it mounted to high so it hits the door latch wrong. The result is it was necessary to slam it to close it.
At this years International ever coach in the dealers display along with every coach on my dealers lot had the same problem. The bolt is mounted to high.

...If it couldn't be installed properly the door should have been 'bent' with a piece of wood at the factory or on the dealer PDI? 😳

A true skill!

It took some figuring out to align a screen door that was off a bit. Equal, yet Opposite Expectations, describe it at best.

Even when properly adjusted ... a visit from someone (or a gorilla) who doesn't realize that the doors are aluminum ... you may have to realign several times. But it is worth it when you get it "just right".
We have eventually had to "adjust" every AS door that we have owned ... the real trick is to get the screen door properly adjusted with the main door ... so, either get "in" with your dealer / service department or learn to adjust yourself with a great deal of patience. Two of our dealers did not adjust the doors to our satisfaction or did not know how.

If my AS is sitting perfectly level, such as a parking lot or the floor of my storage unit, it closes with a satisfying, "chunk".
However, if the campsite is even a tiny bit out of level, maybe an inch, the door won't close fully, it closes but won't lock.
That's when a firm pull is required.
I'm thinking the chassis is getting torqued slightly and causing the door to misalign, but I don't want to screw up the perfect fit when level.
