DWR travel trailer
I'm new to the forum and wondering if there are members who own an Airstream DWR (Design Within Reach). I'm thinking to buy one but have only seen them online. Any comments about a DWR would be welcomed.
Thanks, Bonnie

Welcome to the forums. We have a 2008 model and are VERY satisfied. It is perfect for 2 adults and a dog. We have been pleased with the solar panels and highly recommend that option. She tows like a dream and above all else she's CUTE! Good luck on your search.

Welcome from the Florida Panhandle
Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.
Try the Forums 'search' function in the upper blue tool bar. It might lead you to some DWR owners. You might also search for information on late 16' Bambis, as these are basically the same trailer with a different interior details.

thanks for the response and welcome. I notice on your profile that it indicates you have a 16' International CCD. Is that the same as, or similar to the DWR? I'd be delighted to be introduced to other models of smaller airstream trailers as well.
Best Regards, Bonnie

It is basically the same...the only difference is the interior. There are wraparound windows front and back ( I think that is the same as the International). We listed in the profile as International as there was not a DWR option. I am pretty sure the floor plan is exactly the same. Oh the zipdee awning is red....that is different from the International.

Bonnie, when you find a DWR, sit down before you find out the price. They are very expensive. The CCD is a bit different trim line—stands for Christopher Deam, the guy who designed the interior. There are many different trim lines, SE's for example, stand for Special Edition. You can find all sorts of different versions, models, trim, until you go wacky.
Keep studying, save those Loonies, and welcome to the Forum.
Has the Red River crested at Winnipeg yet?

Virtually all of the late model 16' Bambis are the same with different trim levels and prices to go along with it. Be aware that a `16 footer has a combo gray/black tank. A 19 footer is more capable if you really intend to camp in it.
I used to live on the border just south of Winnipeg in Pembina, North Dakota.

Bonnie...welcome to the Airforums and good luck as you search for your Airstream. The DRWs are very very cute and those who have them are pretty much in love with them. But do look at other options in the 16' and 19' lengths if you want to stay with the smaller models of the trailers available to make sure you are making the best choice for you. While we liked the 16' too, we didn't want the wet bath (we had one of those in previous our small motorhome) and we didn't want the combined grey/black tank that comes on the 16'... We also didn't want the cloth interior walls on the Safari model, so we went for the Safari SE which has the aluminum interior and panoramic window, as do the International CCDs. The Safari SE (as of 2009 these are called Flying Clouds...no more Safari branding) has the rounded wood grain cabinetrey as opposed to the laminate more modern looking CCD interiors...we like the combination and clean look... Consider a solar panel option whatever you do...you'll be glad you did. Check out what the LS package gives you as well if those enhancements are improtant to you. And consider adding rear and street side awnings.
Whatever you decide, you are in for a great time...see you down the road!
