3-Door Airstream Spotted!

While in Northeast PA this weekend, we spotted a 3-door (all on the curb side) late 60's Airstream. Took pictures, hope to post them in the next week. Has anyone heard of or seen such a setup? It appears to be factory, as all 3 doors had the slide away steps and trimmed properly.

Would love to see this one...

Wonder what the floor plan looks like inside? Can't imagine the need for 3 doors as a standard option...maybe it is a mobile showroom or something?

What ever it is (or was)

can't help but think 3 doors would compromise structural integrity. Can't wait to see pic's. Oscar

It is stock with three doors

I believe the Whirlwind was actually factory made with three doors. Most of them have two doors but there was a few made with three doors.

I have actually seen a picture of at least one if not two.

this one is a late 60's early 70's model though...I'm waiting to finish the roll of film, then I'll post the pics...sorry about the technologically deficient delay, no digital camera

Just found this thread. Most of you are correct. It is a 1967 31 foot with 3 doors on the curb side. It was built by the factory for the New York Airstream Jamboree in 68.

We purchased it in KS and towed it to Napa Valley, CA where we are begining to restore it as a mobile sales unit for our business, Calamity Jane's Trading Co. of the Napa Valley.

So, get ready to give us direction, we are going to need it!
