15 amp to 50 amp question

My 68 Overlander only needs a 30amp connection, but I have another rig (read houseboat) that has a full size washer dryer and 220v A/C, that uses 50amp 240 service. When boondocking (we call that "on the hook"), I use the same Honda 2200 that I use with the airstream, with a 15 to 50 plug adapter.
Obviously the AC and dryer won't work, but ALL the other outlets do. Apparently the 15-50 adapter powers BOTH legs of the panel with 120 service. My question is whether putting the same phase of 120 into the dryer and AC might damage them. No problems so far, but wondering if there is some lurking danger.
And no, the 4 120 circuits on the boat are not on the same leg, they are split 2 and 2.

That's why the 15 -50 dogbone supplies power to both legs of the 50 amp plug.
Otherwise, only two circuits would work. However, you don't have 240, just 120 because the two legs are tied together, not out of phase..

If you don't turn on the AC or the dryer, how would it affect them?

I think I'd turn off the breakers for the A/C and washer. Just in case someone turns them on. They will see 120 v. but want to pull, let's say, 2000 watts, at 240 v. Suddenly they will try to draw twice as many amps to make up the 2000 w. resulting in burned out motors.

That was my worry. Some unintended consequence of feeding tge same phase into both legs of the AC & dryer. Playing it safe by turning off 220 breakers is probably a good idea.

You would hopefully blow a fuse or trip a breaker first. They react to amps and at 120V amps will be double.
