Interesting!

I had spoken to the same seller. He disclosed to me that the carpet and curtains needed replacement, there was a white lens missing toward the rear (a backup light?), the battery was questionable, the A/C was a "maybe", there was a small dent from a branch measuring 4" x 2", one tambour door was missing, the trailer had sat for five years and been used only one weekend during that time ...

They always look nicer in the pictures than they do in real life, I've noticed. That's why I'm not buying Airstreams on eBay that I can't actually inspect before I bid. Just too much risk.

Another seller is advertising Argosys in another part of the web as "mint" and "original and beautiful" condition. I've seen them -- "mint" is just a ridiculous exaggeration. Caveat emptor: one person's "mint" is another person's "gut the interior." There's just no substitute for seeing them in person.

I could go on all day with the examples I've encountered lately ..

You should add your location to your profile, so it shows on your messages. I'm sure people in here will be happy to help you watch for one. Good luck, and I hope you find a nice one soon. I agree, eBay is probably not the place to go, unless you get lucky and see one on there close enough to personally inspect before bidding. Not all eBay sellers are bad, but it's a big investment so you have to watch out for yourself!

ebay has a bambi listed and the seller is i business. i dont remember his feedback rating but i would chance someone who is a business and has good feedback. he is located in texas near fort worth. the thing i didnt like is he has a ac mounted in the front window. dont know how much pain it would be to get the window fixed. lol

I went through the Ebay fiasco thing here about a month agp.
I had made a post about it here on ASF but it got lost in the recent melt down.
I was high bidder on a 67 24 footer. There were 28 bids.
From the pictures and the guy's description you would have thought it was very nice. But when I arrived to pick it up it was a wreck.
So I declined to pay for it and drove home.
The seller gave me a negative feed back. I had to do likewise for him. I just wish you could write more than a one liner.
All in all a rather crumby and unneccessary experience.
I like Ebay. And a guy can find some good deals there. But I will NEVER bid on an item that expensive again without looking it over first.

i did a similiar thing on a ebay auction few years dack. the description was lacking and i told the seller i wanted to sleep on the deal and departed to never return. he called and wanted to know when i was going to pay for the item and i advised never as the item was not described correctly excassive damage and he could do his thing and i would do mine . never heard from again. didnt give feedback and didnt get any. i think that is a buyers right that will stick in any court. lol
