Window AC
I live in my trailer, do not travel with it, BUT I thought this might be of use to others.
I put in a window AC, specifically, a LG Mounted 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner. When I moved recently, I simply removed the window AC, removed the AC support pieces, closed the window, and travelled down the road. Even if you travel, why not, for the small expenditure of energy in taking-out and putting-back-in, add to your cool-factor - it's getting Hotter!
We removed the screen, removed some of the window-opening hardware, built a wooden AC platform with wooden braces for the inside and outside, and 'custom' built/cut curved pieces to fit below and above the platform to fill-in the space between the AC and the window frame. Those curved pieces below and above the platform sit in the window frame (where the screen was?). Then we extended the AC's accordion sides to fill the gaps on either side and weather stripped them to the window frame. I am certain that others could have built a better platform, haha! Oh, I reflectix'd the open window that sits above the AC. Then, I custom-cut a cloth window blind to cover the inside (that was NOT fun).
The AC has an outdoor extension cord that I plug into an auxiliary outlet at my power box (otherwise I *might* blow fuses).
