I get that too....also just today, the similes on the right side of the post screen stopped working in that when I click any of them, they do not appear in the message body (no complaints, just sharing what I'm findin').

None of the enhanced features are are working for me now. The smilies, bold, itallics, hyperlink, etc. nothing is working except just typing. It was working a few days ago. I'm on a Mac and in enhanced mode. I'd insert a confused smilie here if I could.

Now I have to use the quick reply as the "post reply" won't allow me to enter text...
but if I go back to edit I can use the smilies...

Unfortunately I think this has to do with the fact the hard drive is spinning as fast as possible and does not have time to "fetch" the smiles, etc... I am looking into solutions (monster hard drive system).

Single Hard Drive running OS and software? If so, might want to add drives so you aren't limited by the single spindle.

FYI...for a while now it's been touch and go posting new threads....I haven't posted a new thread in a while. Well, today I did and for some reason, it just won't do it with Safari, no matter what. I went to an old version of IE and without any issue, it took the new thread.
Before I went to IE and tried with Safari on this recent thread (which did work well prior to December timeframe) I would get errors saying the request would time out, but if I tried again, it would say the post was a duplicated, even though looking at the main page, it didn't take. Anyway for Mac folks, if you're trying to use Safari here, some update either on this site or from Apple has blown something up for use with this site, but on others the functionality still works. IE might be a good alternative until the fix on either end is found.

You are exactly correct. In order to do things very right, I am planning on doing a RAID 5 with four 15k RPM SCSI. ETA ~ 1 month.

It's not Safari, that is what I use. I have had issues starting new threads but no more so than Windows users.

I had problems starting thread too.
The fix I used (per Kevin) is to clear my cookies and cache for my browser. Wiz bang problems went away.
Kevin mentioned that when the software is upgraded, the old cookies do not always work with the new revision.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Had noticed that this morning, but my brain hadn't registered yet that THIS IS DIFFERENT! Nancy

I'm getting a 404 error when I try to access the private message system. There's some messages in there with phone numbers I need, and now I can't get them. I knew I should have written them down! Anyway, I hope it's working again soon!
BTW, I cleared my cookies and now I seem to be able to start threads again. Cool.

Back to only being able to use the quick reply instead of post reply and I am having the same 404 error message when I try to click on private messages up in the right hand corner under my login. I can only access messages by clicking on "user cp" and then "list messages".

Andy, didn't the Topic Title links on the portal page used to have &goto=newpost in them, like the emails? It's a little inconvenient to be taken to the first post, especially in a multi-page topic, and clicking the tiny goto last post is not only harder, but often isn't where I want to go... that being the first unread new posting. Can this be changed?

You can "jump" to the last post by clicking on the little icon (see attachment).

The last post isn't where I want to go... I'd like to go to the first post that I haven't yet read. I thought &goto=newpost did that.
