I have tried to start a new thread on a furnace problem, and I can only reply to existing threads.
I have no idea why there is a problem.
Can someone advise me why I am unable to post a new thread?

this is a recurring problem that happens to many of us. It might work if you try a few times ( took me 4 to start a new thread), so if that is ok for you, copy the text before you hit post, and then you can paste it if it does not work the first time.
Our host is working on a fix for this issue.

Alan-
Thanks. I tried and tried to start a new thread with this last night. I seem to be one of those that cannot get it to work even at 8-9 times....so, I hijacked a thread that seemed to fit...sort of.
I hope the fix happens soon!

Same problem here. I've tried a dozen times from two different computers to post with no success.
Apparently Airstream has introduced a new model (above), and I'm trying to get information on it.
Are certain members excluded from posting?

I don't think anyone has been banned from posting. This is # 319 for me. I just can't start a new thread for some reason.

Phew! I was starting to get a complex as this has gone on for months for me - my solution is just jump in on a thread that is remotely close - and when things get fixed the post can be moved to a more appropriate thread...

Am I doing something wrong? Thank you. J

Moderators can probably fill in more on this, but I just checked the chatroom and it is working ok as of 3 pm. It is likely that your own computer settings are blocking you from participating. It is a java application, so you have to have java enabled on your system to participate. Also, I think it may require cookies, so you'll have to permit them.
The main organized chat takes place Tuesday nights at 9 pm est. It is possible that folks may check in other times, but I've never been so lucky as to chance on anyone there...
Good luck,
Mary

I had the same problem with my older, slower computer. I moved over to my newer, super-whiz-bang fast computer and it worked fine. I compared settings between the two and found no real differences in the two. Go figure.

Moderators are having the same issues - intermittently. For now, be sure to copy your post before you submit it so that at least you can paste text in on retry. Sorry for the difficulty.

Sticky thread
What is meant by, when viewing the forums page under the "rating" colume, a thread is said to "sticky". And before the jokes start, I DO know the first common definition in Websters! Thanks, Jim

STICKY mean the thread will remain at the top (or near it), of the list of threads, even when it is not currently active. This is great for those items of continuing importance and interest.

Thanks, Alan. Now I understand. That also explains the order in which things are displayed on the forums screen. Answers two questions. Appreciate the help.
