The time zone setting is something you set in your user control panel-edit options. Once it is set the system presents the time on post's to you as of the time in "your" time zone. Yours may be set to GMT. You should be at GMT-7? if you are in Mtn time zone and do the daylight savings time thing.

The Prime Meridian has been established at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, which is just east of London. Back when nautical navigation first became standardized, the Royal Observatory was the sole source of time "truth" so outgoing ships could synch their clocks used for navigation. But that was then.

Today, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is the basis against which all other time zones are referenced. Since computer systems are global in nature, they use GMT as their operating time basis. Hence, default time for computer systems appears to be London time.

As to your question...even though I have my timezone correctly set up in my profile, occasionally I notice that timestamps have reverted back to London time. Eventually this corrects itself. I don't know if this is a problem with the Forums, with my computer, with my browser, or just a random bug somewhere.

. . .
Per recent comment sometimes you have to go back to the User CP [in blue menu bar at upper left on the desktop version of this site . . . not sure where on the AF App] . . . and adjust.
