this website is a giant mess

a thousand different drop-downs, nested in row after row of irrelevant tabs. Seriously, folks, go down to your local community college and take a course in web development. You are violating just about every textbook rule of web design. what is this, 1997?

Its a standard forums format. Not sure what you mean by endless dropdowns.

I guess he is referring to AIRFORUMS????? It also works fore me, and I consider myself somewhat website astute. If there is a better website of this type, I have not seen it. I have been here quite a while, and this is the first complaint I have seen about our site after over 40,000 registrants. I didn't realize that we were violating every rule of web design.

Please send a PM with your specific comments to members of the administration team, who are best prepared to discuss the specifics of this site's design. I am confident that they would happily discuss each of your comments to a reasonable understanding.

Your current comments are impolite and unprofessional to the staff that maintains this resource for the rest of us.

Wow! All I could ask for would be spellcheck, otherwise, I'm happy with our little "1997" site.

Your description actually makes me wonder if you have some ad-ware infection on your computer. This forum is a standard VBulliten forums site, like thousands of others on the web, which is actually one of the cleanest designs available, and certainly one of the easiest to use, at least in my experience.

It's too bad that you don't like the website design. It's manageable for most, I think. But, the website is far more than just the design. For my husband and me, it is the invaluable information and advise from the experienced, veteran Airstreamers on tires, brake controllers, water heaters, hitches, and so much more. We have found excellent, spot-on technical and product DIY advise that would have cost far more than we can afford to spend on our AS. We purchased our hitch and gas regulator through this forum and became acquainted with two excellent folks because of it.

Although I seldom post, I visit often. Over the past 16 months, I come to this website whenever we need to learn something about our vintage AS. There is always an answer to be found - already there or available for the asking. And, there are some great personalities here. I don't know them but it feels like I do.

Maybe you would offer your technical skills and web design savvy to help make it better. I bet no one would object to that. Maybe there are some old dogs here but I'd bet on them being up to learning new tricks.

Dump the thread, it's going to get ugly, I can feel it in my bones. Can't wait for "Oregonian" to post any questions about his coach.

Wow...quite a statement to throw out there for someone new to a site...

You may be viewing threads in the wrong mode...when you are in a thread look at the upper right hand corner where you see "Thread Mode"...drop that window and select "Linear Mode"...that may be easier fro you to navigate...

Actually once you learn the basics, this site is rather easy to navigate. And if you do have trouble there are always moderators who are happy to help you...if you just ask. That might be more useful than throwing a bomb.

If you use Firefox as your browser, it will give you spell check.

Sometimes the lack of knowledge of a website's content makes it appear confusing? or disorganized. New isn't always more appropriate for a knowledge sharing site. zz
