Submit New Image for AIRForums Header

When we rolled out the new forum look we intended to have the header image rotate periodically. We are inviting encouraging begging you to submit images that might be used this way.

Here are some important things to remember. Images must be high quality and your own photography (or creation). The header image is 1200 x 169 pixels; very wide but not very tall. It is possible to crop an existing image to meet this criteria like so:




There needs to be some space on the left for the banner and navigation tabs or alternatively we will blur out what ever is in that part of the image so the really good stuff needs to be over on the right side.



We can crop a pic for you if you like - just load them to this thread or into the gallery and post a link. We will select a few of them and swap them out periodically

First shot has some riff raft to edit out, and the second is backwards. Not sure how to get the exact dimensions you're asking for either.

I know you're trying to find images to use in the new format.

Having worked in the graphic communication business for quite a while, I would suggest going back to the designer and have him/her come up with a header solution that does not require extreme horizontal imagery.

It WILL make your life much easier.

Old and new... we ran into lcurrie at a Sonic in Atoka, OK on the way to Eureka Springs.

I took this picture several years ago - but I've never cropped it to this degree. It's still one of my favorites and one of the few I have that works in this format. Wish I had framed it a bit more to the right for this application...

So my photoshop skills are not perfect...but I did try to shift the image a bit...

That's kind of a problem for me, too, Shari! I've got a couple of ok shots of the Airstream out in Mother Nature, but their framing is just not going to work with the cropping requirements.
