I contacted several of the active commercial vendors on this forum last year when I was hosting the first Dead Horse Rally. I asked them if they would like to support the rally with an item or two that we could give away at the rally. Each and every vendor that I contacted was more then happy to send me some very nice items at no cost. The commercial vendors on this forum are a real plus, IMO. The fact that they freely give advice makes the forums a better place.

This may be a good place to point out for those of you "new folks" like me that didn't know until recently (thanks Safari Tim)...
Andy R and Andy R are not the same person.

If you look real close at their pictures, you will see that one wears glasses and the other does not

The times I have done the photo contest I have been cheerfully been given prizes by the Vendors. Thank you again.
I have also had the Vendors answer my questions via phone and E-mail saving me from myself at no charge. Thank you again.
Rudity? I've gotten that from Members . No one is perfect and we all have bad days. Except me of course.
I like Airstream sales/service/aftermarket vendors being here and availible to answer my questions and giving me prices (when asked) so I can get info and comparison shop.

I'm not sure who all the commercial vendors are who visit this site, but I will say that both Andy R's are very much appreciated. One for keeping this site working and the other for outstanding input on a regular basis. Furthermore, I don't think any of us should just expect a free lunch with regards to using this site. If a few ad's show up at some point, I will only hope they help cover costs.

Richard,
Don't rub it in... I hope you can see how I might have come to that conclusion... before I looked at the pictures of course.

I posted a notce to that effect, twice, this past August.

Clueless in Tempe
Well - there I go again. I thought that the Airstream related vendors were an asset. I thought that having free advice of someone who sees multiple instances of things I've only seen once was valuable. The vendors that have offered advice to me have always been identified as such. Too bad they irritate members of the community.

Free advice or information, is always nice, regardless of the topic.
Some people appreciate that advice, and offer thanks for it.
Many people accept it, but never say thanks.
Then there are those, that "demand" it, and when refused, seemingly go on a "hate' campaign.
Ah, human nature. It does wonderous things, especially with some of todays meds, legal or otherwise.
And so it is.
Or is it, "it is what it is?"
Those that offer some form of thanks to venders, "ALWAYS" makes the venders "day."

Great Topic
Keep up the good words, all you "commercial vendors". This forum keeps all of us in contact with goods and services that are needed, when we need them.

I Appreciate Input from the Vendors
I too want to go on record with a big thank you to all the vendors who are willing to share their expertise here for free. I towed my ’67 all over the southeast with improperly balanced running gear and silicone seal on it. This predated the Internet…I simply didn’t know. When any of the vendors ventures an opinion or gives advice, I give it extra consideration even if I don’t agree completely.

We started badging vendors a few years ago for a number of reasons. - Vendors asked to post about specialty items or services of interest to this community.
- Many have extraordinary knowledge to contribute and a unique perspective. At the same time we set up some rules for posts from vendors and a new subforum for commercial posts e.g "We are offering a 10 % discount to all AIR members on..." Vendors post under unusual scrutiny.
- We believe that these commercial members add value to the conversation and are glad they post. Vendors are also labled so that people know that they are conversing with some one who MAY want to sell them something, sort of a "fair warning" kinda thing deal. It's not a perfect system, but it seems to work.
As mentioned earlier, if you have a problem with another member's posts, please message a moderator with your concerns.

I like the vendors' input!
I have no problem with vendors posting their opinions, etc...they have a whole lot more experience than I do, and I value that expertise... Those that consistently offer advice and knowledge are just as "into" Airstreams as the rest of us are...and I also believe that those who are only out for a buck don't stick around long... What's more I've not seen a single vendor pressure anyone to buy anything from them. I'm glad they're here mixing it up with us!

I also like vendors being on the forums ,for instance ,when they quote a price on somthing ,they are giving you information that can be used to
decide if their item is right for you , or not . Many many threads of valuable and useful information has and is available for everyone in the airstream
trailer community .... FREE . Take it or leave it, it does no harm and we can
benefit from it .If we disagree ,thats ok also .Use the information to make the best decision possible ,for it or against it .Many years of experience brought
to the forums table can be very useful ,even the price quotes .id like to see
vintage Trailer Supply chime in someday ,very very helpful indeed .
