Searching this Forum

How in the world can one find an older tread or post on this Forum. If I type in a key word I will get responses that are not even close to the request.

Admittedly, the Google Custom Search (Click on Search on the blue bar at the top of the page, the Google search is halfway down) works better than the built in one. Even then, I have had times where my keywords just weren't enough to narrow down what I was looking for! It's an art!

Your likelihood improves if you go to Google or Bing for your answers.

Many times you're directed back here to the post you're looking for.

Try it.

The search feature stinks, then people get on your case for asking a question and not searching for previous posts!

I gave up using it a long time ago because I figure it is "or" ing the words - sorta maybe. It really is a shame.

For example I've been looking for the best way to re-caulk the lower belt trim at the rear of our Safari. I know I have read about it may times here and how people always say it can cause leaks. I got way too many search results to sift through. Quotes do not seem to help much. Oh well still no better place to find Airstream info.

In the search box for google use a '+' sign between your search terms. No spaces. Caulk+beltline will pull in some specific results.

I agree that the practice of offering non-responsive input renders many threads too long and cumbersome to be useful. But, there's lots of good stuff in there if you're willing to wade in.
