Reuse Attachments
I see from my User CP display that I have uploaded a file twice, and used the same file in two different posts. Is there anyway to reuse a previously uploaded attachment (photo)? I tried copying the URL of the previously uploaded photo and entering that in the Manage Attachments upload from URL window, but it reports an invalid file name when I click on upload from URL.

Hi Randy. Every image has its own URL. You find it by right clicking on the image, select "properties" then copy that URL (location) and paste it to the
"Upload File from an URL" box.
For example, the URL of your avatar is http://www.airforums.com/attachments...tar17017_2.gif
When you upload that URL, you get a link to your avatar image:

User Interaction Required, but it Works
Thanks for the reply, ASL.
I just did a test and discovered that it does work with one additional step.
Right clicking an image and selecting properties does give you a URL for the image. On an avatar, or on any photo that is uploaded not as a part of a thread, the URL will end with the file extension (.jpg, .gif, etc.). If you right click on one of your attachments in your User CP list, the URL you get when you select Properties, doesn’t end in a file type. That URL was what I was pasting into the Upload from URL box, and getting the error message.
The Fix: After you paste the URL into the box, type in the file extension. Click on Upload and you get the image attachment you wanted to reuse.
Attachments to thread postings behave a little different that images uploaded elsewhere. Just need to keep this extra step in mind.

I find it easier to right clik the image, copy and then paste. Very quick and simple!

Easier, but that puts another copy of the picture on the server. I was trying to get to one that's already there without making another copy. Maybe I don't need to worry about server space, but that's just me

Randy-
Quite true but since Andy is in Brazil right now and he switched us over to a new server, we have lots of room!
