Steve,
Funny you should mention piloting...My brother inlaw and wife's uncle are both excellent pilots. Uncle is a retired 757 pilot but has fleet of small antique aircraft that he flies...BIL has a Cessna 142. He learned how to fly the old fashioned way...seat of the pants on a tail dragger. It has saved his hide a couple of times. Now he is 3rd seat on a C-130 on the mideastern tour.
Andy, Organic Hosting, that owns the board does other hosting as well as the ads. Once in a while a collection will be collected to buy a needed piece of equipment for this board...but only if he asks. This board is a labor of love for him. He is a vintage owner too.

I am having/have had these problems for about a week now....can't post a new thread.
The people on the Open Roads Forum are generally not as knowledgeable about Airstreams but once I a while in have a "generic" question and that forum functions OK.
So is it busy here? Is that the problem?

can't post
I've been trying to make a new post for several days, and it's a no-go.
Hope it gets fixed soon, before I lose my train of thought.....

I just checked one of Andy's other forums: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ has 1053 people logged on. I don't know how resources are allocated but I doubt busy is the problem here (unless we share with them). I'm guessing buggy is an issue.
Also, it looks like out host hasn't logged in since 2-24 so unless the moderators, or somebody else, are keeping in touch he isn't even aware of this thread and that we are having problems.

Still....
I have continued to try to post many times within the past 2 weeks. I continue to be able to add a reply to an ongoing thread (such as this) but can't start a new thread.
Much like flamingo-kid 1, time was (possibly) important to my message. After typing it up 6 seperate times and each time being denied the opportunity to post my thread I'm gonna try it once more, in a day or two. If I still can't get it posted I guess I'll give up on this posting; I'm getting tired of typing it without results.
My thread has to do with a unique AS Classic Motorhome (not my own) that I spotted for sale, so if it was actually a good one, it may well be sold by now (?).
As I mentioned in another reply, I sent message to the "Contact Us" address a couple of weeks ago but have not received a response. Maybe that part of the system isn't working also.

Still buggy
The moderators are having trouble also.
I tried four times to start a new thread today with no luck. I then changed the title of the thread slightly and it posted on the first try. Figure that one out!

Sorry for all the problems lately. I made a mistake in installing a statistics package that wrote info to the database on every page load. I could not figure out what was causing the extra load for a while. I have since turned that statistic package off and the server seems to be back to normal. I also changed the way the software connects to the sql server. I had made a change before and I think that was causing the posting errors. I will also be adding some faster hard drives soon.

Width Problems
I am having problems with the width as well. I hope the new program will solve this! Otherwise, thanks for all you do to keep this forum up and running!

If you press F9 with the cursor in the page, it will hide the sidebar at the left and allow the page to display full width. This should allow you to read the posts without scrolling horizontally.

Yes, I, too, have experienced problems with the site. My own involved trying to contact the outside repair forum but I kept getting a really wierd message something like "you put the same message on five minutes ago - so bug off!" {remember, I said "something like"} which just wasn't true. Hope the admin gets it cleared up since I really need to know where to find a part for my 1984 Excella 31. Jason Brooks, Cape Girardeau, MO

John I have tried this as you had mentioned elsewhere earlier. Still no luck for me.
I have IE with an Athalon ,windows xp-pro.
I tried all the "F-keys" ...Nothing happens.
The F-9 did not remove the forum sidebars nor my "Favorites" sidebox which I put up to see if it too would go away. Of course I know how to remove the Favorites sidebox.

Display time ...
Yes, longer than normal. Further, can't seem to start new thread. Keeps displaying the 5 minute rule! Soooooo, if this reply posts, why can't I start a thread???
