No-graphics view

I'll be overseas without my laptop but do have internet access with a new iPod Touch. I'd like to follow this website, but the intensive graphics take a while to load.

I looked for a while, but couldn't find a way to get a text-only view. Is it possible on this site?

Displaying pictures is an option of your browser. In IE it is under Internet Options, Advanced, Multimedia. Maybe your ipod has a similar setting to eliminate displaying pictures.

There is an option in your user CP.

Click on user cp (upper tool bar)

Then select "edit options" from the left side menu and then scroll down to find "thread display options".

You can disable avatars, signatures and images. When you're finished scroll all the way down and hit save.

And where suppose to be fan in that?
When I was using dial up on the project, I was using Internet accelerator.
It shows pictures with only partial resolution what is fast to load. If you want to see particular picture better, you scroll to refreshing with full resolution.
Where exactly are you going? Most of the countries around the World are saturated with low cost Internet cafés, not to mention that lot of hotels and restaurants offer the service for free.

In the Safari Preferences, go to Appearance and uncheck "Display images when the page opens". That seems to block some of the graphics. Since the touch only gets the internet on wi-fi, I don't think the images should be too much of a problem.

Thanks for the replies.

The iPod Touch is still a little slow for real browsing. I think it's the internet cafe's. The unit is phenominal for podcasts, pictures and videos from iTunes -- but not a substitute for a good browser.
