New member question

Hi! We just joined the Forum, though we have been reading periodically for awhile. Glad to be a member, and loving Airstreams.

Question: I posted an ad for our 1974 Safari 23 over five days ago, and it appears that it is "still awaiting approval." Is this a normal time span? We bought a newer, bigger AS, and really need to sell soon. I can't seem to find a number to call or an email to contact. I am probably having a tech prob. But I sure would appreciate some help.

I am having the same problem, I clicked on the "contact" link and get an error message. Did your ad get posted? I am trying to post my 1958 Airstream for sale, my dad passed away and the property needs to be cleared so if I don't sell it by Sept. 15th I will have no choice but to take it to the crusher.

Use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page to ask the Site admins about it.

I am not having a problem with the link, so perhaps try it again?

The Site team member who approves these ads may be gone for a few days...

I am not sure if this is related but I have sent responses to for sale ads with no reply. I'm not sure if the messages have Ben delivered even thought the website say so. If it had been just one person I might have blown it off but several have not responded.

My ad was posted, very shortly after I had written. We are just returning from the total eclipse. Maybe the classifieds people are, too.

I have sent 'emails to owner' of trailers for sale at least 10 times on 5 different days in the past two weeks, and have never received a response...are all of the for sale ads bogus?

We got ours through an ad here in the classifieds. Used Airstreams are in demand and they go quickly. The couple we contacted agreed to hold theirs for us to have the first look. We couldn't get there because of a snow storm. They told us they had several email and phone contacts from interested people. I'd guess that after someone sells theirs they don't bother to respond to inquiries. Most of the sellers' Airforum accounts show very few postings. The come here to sell, they they're gone.

That's not to say they're aren't bogus listings or bogus responses to listings. It's a case of buyer/seller beware.
