New Feature: Blogs!

Well I apologize for taking so long to get a blogging solution installed here on our community. Now that we have upgrade the software I have purchased and installed the blogging package developed by the same people who make the forum software. It should be pretty easy to use as it's very similar to the way the forums works.

You can now see a new link in the Nav Bar at the top that say Blog (see attachment). From here you can create a new blogs and post about your travels, your restoration project, life in general, people you meet at a campground, updates from rallies, etc.

You can go ahead and start playing around with the new features now. To tell you the truth, I don't even know how they work yet so I can't post a tutorial but if we all work together posting our feedback to this discussions we can learn how to use this new feature together and then I'll write a tutorial from that.

So go for it, start your Airstream Blog today!

Oh yeah, thanks for your patience and help getting this new section of our forum going. I will be integrating the system with the home page and on some other places so all your blog posts and comments will get a lot more exposure and keep things more lively!

Andy can we use something like Front Page to build our blog, am curious how everyone got those nice designs.

2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

You can edit a blog posting online right here. The formatting takes care of itself and is part of the software. Please PM me if you have specific questions

Hi Janet,
Nothing major..just tried to edit the text in the blog as, it wouldn't upload my photos and...because of that, the text didn't make proper sense..In trying to do that, I got the "gooseberry message"..

i am trying to start our blog. I have built a few web pages but this blog stuff is new to me.
1. do i type my blog on the (post my blog screen)
2. how do i put pictures on the blog
3. how do people find the blog

another question if i want to put all my pics on the member pic page do i do that through the blog

Blogs pics and the photo gallery are two different things.

You can load pics into a blog post if you like or you can start a member gallery by clicking on the photos tab at the top of the page - or you can do both.

To start a blog, go to your blog and from the left side menu click post to your blog. You can edit these blog posts if needed.

People can find them a number of ways - you could send them a link, there is a rolling feed of new blog posts on the portal page and eventually google will index them as well. Forum members can find you blog easily by looking at your profile and following the link to your blog.

Please remember that blogs are not really intended for asking questions. If you want help on a project or need info - just post a new discussion thread in the appropriate area of the forum. Blogs are great for documenting restorations and travels.
