Need help with forum setting...

Before the newer forum software whenever I would view a thread, including one that I had already seen, the page would open to the last message I viewed.

Now it seems to go the first message in a thread. Including threads that are muliple pages long. It always takes me to the first page, first message.

How can I get it back to taking me to the last message/post I viewed?

Go into your 'User CP' area, then 'Edit Options'. There is a section with 'Thread Display Options' that will allow you to change the way the posts display.

Also be sure you click on the arrow in the 'Last Post' column instead of the Thread Title.

Here are the 'User CP' button & the little square arrows to the right of the poster names in the 'Last Post' column...

Pic below is from the 'Home' page, the 'Forum Interface' page is just about the same....once you find it in one place you'll see it all over.

I found the spot in the control panel, but I still don't know which one of the options will automatically take me to the last read post in a thread. after the most recent changes, I got a "go to first unread" link at the top of the page in a thread, but now that seems to have disappeared. clicking on the "go to last post" button in the right hand column isn't really any more useful than clicking on the post link in the left; go to the end and scroll back to find the spot where I left off...or start at the begining and scroll forward...what I'd like to do is just go to where I left off. which is the way it used to work, before the "big" change-over.
