Andy has us all seeing red! Now we are all red-dy.

Lady in red has a much better persona that turning grey, don't you think? I was blue for awhile but I got over that.

Currently all Y'all have a gold rivet by your user names, as well as a pair of gold rivets bracketing your "contributing member" designations. Do you think that is too many rivets, not enough rivets, or, like Goldilocks, "just right"?

Gee, in Florida they capitalize "y'all." How hoity-toity. Can't even be redneck without being proper about it.

Does it mean that you get gold rivets on your Airstream too?

I don't mean to rain on this parade....BUT

What happened to equal anonimity?

Anyone who registers to a forum CONTRIBUTES

If we all chose not to participate in this forum then there would be slim pickins - somewhat like the other AS forums.

I think it is great that people contribute $'s to this forum - but I am sure it is getting it's share of advertising dollars - by virtue of the participation here alone.

It is a community - of people that should not be identified if we have contributed money or not.

Next I can see the $ amounts of all the reds with gold dots.

Nice idea but it sure does start distinguishing a "class" system pretty quick.

Do I feel guilty that I have not paid money to this forum - no not really - but it now makes me have to think if other people think of you differently - or are we the free-loaders..

Starting to feel like Bell Expressview around here.....

So if I contribute what - is the minimum - will my gold dot shine any less than a major contributor - or how about giving the advertisers on the banners the gold dots...

Sorry to vent - BUT

Just like the WBCCI !!!

Heh, I like it! As it gets older, the Forums is becoming just like the WBCCI with its very visible class and officer distinctions. Instead of Red Jackets, we have Red Names. Instead of Gold Section front row parking, we have Gold Rivets parked under the Red Names. Heck, I can't wait for the introduction of Flag Icons so the select among us can proudly fly their flags provided, of couse, they strictly comply with the soon-to-be-issued 5 pages of Avatar Flag Rules.

Next, the Red Names/Gold Rivets will get "free" online streaming music when they log in, featuring Jim Nabors, Wayne Newton and The Four Freshmen!

Knowledge, information, trailer fixes and travel hints are, after all, not really "contribution$" to the Forums worthy of recognition. They are all just idle chatter for the church mice, poor souls, who can comfort themselves with not more than 5 aluminum rivets. And those who make no contribution$$$ will find their rivets oxidizing over time, matching the lost luster of their social standing. Oh well, such people are not really concerned with appearances anyway, so will barely notice their station in the Forums Pecking Order.

Hey I figured out a way to be "special" and not have to pay for it.

If I hold my cursure over my Forum name - it turns from blue to Red (orange for those who have not eaten enough carrots) and if for a few seconds I look into the lightbulb above my computer and quickly look back at the multitude of idle chatter rivets that I have accumulated then one of them turns gold.

Fred Nice - loved your explanation.

Fred, maybe it is just like the WBCCI! Intra clubs or members can benefit by spending more time and energy on their posts and verbal contributions while the others that voluntarily contributed financially to help fund the forum can feel the heat and the ridicule. Yup, pretty close, I'd say.

People supported the forums because they feel they are valued, long before this came up. I would think it is a visual to evoke a response to get some more revenue.

Hi GT6921:

Now that you've unlocked the "Double Secret Cursor Upgrade", you will be cursed by the Powers That Be. I'll have to write a software patch to make a virtural cursor that I can park over my Blue State name to change it to a Red State name whenever I'm feeling Blue. I moved my cursor over some Red Names, but they don't downgrade to Blue, so it seems there is only upward social mobility on these Forums, a good thing for the likes of me.

I think there is a new option in your user CP (for contributing memebers) to disable the contributing member display below your avatar.

Uh, oh, feels like a storm coming. BUT I agree with GT6921. I feel just belonging to this forum means that I am 'contributing'. I post my AIR # in my signature. That's all the acknowledgement I need.

A dream ...

I have a dream that the Forum's many members will one day live in a cyberworld where they will not be judged by the color of their rivet, but by the content of their posts.

Yikes!

I must say that the more color on the forums the better I like it! Opps! Someone will think we're rating each other and then there won't be anymore free hand outs... Rats! I always forget when to keep my mouth shut. Guess my free case of USDA Prime steaks won't be shipping out the 1st of next month huh? Sorry everyone. The Ice cream will still get sent FedEx though... Right? Ed

Gee, if the forums management didn't give the people that paid cash to them something for their money, what reason would there be to give any money?

All Y'all is the formal plural of y'all, so y'all gets capitalized. I is a high-tech redneck .
