Managing Profile Comments

I wonder what the purpose is for user profile comments? I deleted a profile comment sent to me thinking the sender had intended to send me a private message, but instead had sent a profile comment. Now the fact that I deleted the comment is visible. I surely do not intend to insult the sender by intimating that something was wrong with the comment. I thought it was just like mail -- you note and delete. I would think a user should be able to delete the comment -- and also any evidence that the comment was ever there.

It is easy in the menu structure to send a profile comment when you really intended to send a message. Any fix needed here?

I turned off the profile commenting in my user cp.

Ditto........ and when I did there was no longer an option for others to view profile comments.
That should fix your problem.

Profile comments seem to be an under-utilized feature of the software. I've enjoyed some of the notes left there...

TankerIP, the presence of the deleted comment is visible only to you. I know I've deleted some of mine before & conveniently gone back later & viewed them again. PM me if you want it gone permanently -- I can remove it for you.
