I just gave you some good karma so you should my note to you next to my member name.
I did find your post, thanks for the free Karma - I may need it at some point!

I did not find any number listing an amount of karma I may have banked. Not a big deal to me, hopefully I treat folks nice enough on average to not have to bank too many.
Thanks again.

You should see your Karma number under your name on the left. You will only see your own, nobody elses.

However like too many other things around here the mods CAN see your karma. That being said, I usually forget A) that I have it and B) to spread it around
so I am off to see the Karma and step in it too

Uh Oh, Aaron, you've let the cat out of the bag. Now the Mods will be in trouble!

Also keep in mind when looking for your karma in the regular threads that your karma score does not show in the first or last posting in a thread. Used to bother the heck out of me because I could see it on one thread but not on others until I finally understood.

On edit: I found that the karma does show in the last post in a thread just not if you just posted. You need to refresh the page with your browser for it to show.

more confusion ....

... other people may have this "bug" in their karma: I don't see a karma score under my name in posts but instead a "give karma" link that then displays my score.

I did finally find it in the latest reputation section, but it does not show up under my name at left. Only rivets, number of posts, etc.

I'm not really that concerned about the whole issue, I'm just still trying to learn the site. About the time I think I'm doing OK, a "mystery" crops up.

So, was there ever an answer to the question about the highest karma number?

The highest karma I have seen is just shy of 2100. No, it isn't me, and no, I won't tell you who it is.

Thanks. I have one more question -- can mods read other people's private messages?

No. PM's are private, mods and admins can not read them.

I get the impression that mods & admins can read the words attached to the karma people give.

Is this accurate?

Yes, if they take the time to go look them up...most don't unless there is a problem, it's pretty convoluted to do so.

Admins can also see the point values of the individual karma comments based on "the karma formula".

OK, I'm collecting karma in drips and drabs, here and there. Are they like green stamps; can I turn them in for a blender, tiki lights, marshmellow forks or a mosquito deleto?

Karma, along with about a buck might get you cuppa joe at the local stop and rob. If you fancy something like Starbucks take more money with you the Karma won't help much there

We are working on something like that. Unless the project has been shelved, you eventually will be able to trade your karma points for select forums merchandise, such as "AIR" stickers. Which, for the moment, is the extent of our merchandise catalog, but we are working on that, too.

Is there such a thing as too much good karma?

This has been a fun read through this thread, so..

Just to keep the karma issue rolling
In the real world, isn't the goal to keep personal karma at ZERO.

I too am pretty new and tried to see if I have any Karma. I couldn't find it listed at my User CP? Is there another way?
