Andy, don't you think maybe it's time to consider a dedicated server just for ASforums?
I know very little about website creation and maintenance but it seems like a site that gets this much traffic should be able to be self supporting.
Now may I have some cheese to go with my whine?

It just shows how much this place means to all of us. It was only for two days and It felt like a friend had died. The "what if it never comes back" dark thought kept creeping into my mind horrifying me.
