Javascript was enabled. I made some changes to the 'advanced' settings for javascript and tweaked something in Norton. After a re-boot it seems to be working. We'll see if that lasts.
OBTW, I have found that logging out of 'airforums' does not delete all the cookies for airforums.com - despite the message that says it does. Its not hard to fix but...
