Images missing from some messages

Recently (within the last week or two), I have started to note that some messages do not contain the photo image/s that were in the original message. Is there an explanation for this? Thanks, Hank

I saw that today in a thread too. Only the picture placeholders displayed if they were the uploaded pictures. I think linked pictures were displaying normally.

I am not positively certain which thread but I thought it was the photo contest one which is displaying perfectly now.

I just looked at http://www.airforums.com/forums/f71/...tml#post675384, and the image was missing (but there was a space for it). Hank

It now happens the majority of the time for me . . . I'll attach a screen shot of what I see . . . hopefully the image shows up.

At some point in time there may have been an interruption to your computer downloading the image. That mis-load is stored in your cache (temporary internet files) and may be stuck displaying in spite of your repeated loading the page. Let's have you clear your cache to start with a clean download from the site.
  • In IE go to your 'Tools' menu, 'Delete Browsing History,' and delete 'Temporary Internet Files' only. or
  • In Firefox go to your 'Tools' menu, 'Clear Recent History,' select 'Cache' only and then click Clear.
Just do the cache (temporary internet files). More than that you might find annoying. Don't clear cookies.

I have to google for Safari but instructions to do the same are here.

Then go back and reload the original page where you had the problem. That work?

CanoeStream, I did what you recommended regarding Internet Explorer, but the problem continues for me. Hank

I get the same thing as Mark R. is getting. Not all the time though. I thought it was just me until I saw this thread.

Same issues here. Once I click on an image with the red "X" it opens, and if I leave that thread and come back, it opens all on its own.

But this happens frequently on the forums.

This same thing has been happening to me as well, I thought at first it may just happen on my work computer but at home, same thing happens. I have been using the right mouse button, clicking it once brings up a menu and you can shoose to "Show Picture" or open in a new window, it's a pain but it works.

Are those of you having image issues running any adblocking scheme?

My computer is stuffed to the gills with everything I can come up with to stop ads, page peels, and highlighted words in messages. It's a miracle I saw your question.

Or, "Yes, Janet - I have adblocking software installed."

I believe I have a fairly passive / generic pop up blocker which is part of, or integral with my "system" (in otherwords I didn't purchase or install a separate pop up blocker) . . . and it's always been on my computer (3 or 4 years). This started happening a month or two, maybe three ago - and it happens on my home and work computers (PC's, XP . . .).
Thanks, MarkR

I forgot to mention that I tried the above and didn't have any luck.

Another odd thing is if the post has 2 images I can open the first one by clicking on it - it will enlarge and load fine (although it's just an "X" when I look at it in the context of the thread). However when I click on the 2nd image (I tried this with multiple posts) it will act like it's going to enlarge/load but it will go forever "ticking away" and never open . . . And then if I RIGHT click on it and choose "Open Link" the image will open. This wouldn't be such a big deal if I wasn't so visually motivated/oriented.

I have had a few when I click on it you get the black screen with the spinning arrow hung in a loop and picture never opens. Not often but it happens.
