So I asked Mike about "Magnifier". He is supposed to be fairly competent..... and his answer was real helpful: "Yeah, there is a story like that." Coming from somebody always in search of his 5 or 6 pairs of reading glasses.

I am assuming this statement means that, 'You're not aware of this magnifier feature'.
I shall assume that, you are using Win XP, correct.
Use these following steps to find it.
1) Start
2) Programs
3) Accessories
4) Accessibility
5) Magnifier
The "magnifier" will appear at the top of your screen and, show that portion of text that your mouse guilds over.
(I hope this suggestion helps Mike out as well.)

Thanks for the trouble. I followed your directions: NO 4) Accessibility in #3

I played with using the largest size text..... much too large anywhere else. BUT: the size in the reply window did not change.

I am sure your explanation will be useful to someone else.
