I am quite new and I am totally lost.

Hi.
I'm pretty good with computers but, I cannot figure out how these search engines work.

I've tried the 'chat' section . . . the chat123 never loads.
I've tried to search using one-word keywords in "posts" as well as "threads" and get NOTHING what I asked for. I mean, I get in excess of 2500 results but, nothing close to what I asked for.

I would like to post a couple questions but, I wanted to see if the subjects had already been discussed on previous posts.

Can anyone show me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,
Popeye

Easiest way to search these forums is to use Google. Enter the following in Google:

"site:airforums.com XXXX"

Replace XXXX with whatever you want to search for, and leave out the quotation marks.

The search function works like thiel says. On this website the search is similar if you use the second "Google" search box.. at least at time of this post.

I always use google, type in keywords you want then site:airforums.com. Same as theil mentions, but I use keywords first. Works like a Charm

Many forums are like that. I spent a whole night searching another forum on my older diesel truck (not related here) and when I finally posted my question, several were quick to ridicule that topic that has been covered over and over. Do like mentioned above. It works better.

You can use the forum's advance search engine and if you select search the title only the number of hit will be a lot less and the subject will match what you are looking for.

Might be easier to just ask your questions in the appropriate section.
