How to save threads
If I see a thread with information I'd like to save, but not resond to, how do I save it for future reference. For instance, the current thread on Corp of Engineers Campgrounds.

Thats a good question, you can bookmark it. I dont know if the forums has a specific tool for this, it would be neat if there was though.

Subscription will notify you (in the user CP) when a new posting has been made in the thread. Unfortunately, in this case, as soon as you look at the thread again, it will fall off the page so it isnt good as a save/locate tool.

If you subscribe to a thread, you can then access it in your user CP by clicking the "view all subscribed threads" button. As long as you don't automatically subscribe to all threads you post to, it will be relatively easy to find.

Saving thread information
I have been copying it to Word and saving it there as a document with a subject title so I can reference it later. I just thought if I could find it in the forums it would be easier.

Hi Stewart -- Watch out for the daily notification though. Early on I used to just use notepad. It loads a lot quicker than Word and I didn't need hyperlinks. I would categorize folders within one master folder -- easier to find than just looking at subscribed threads IMO. I've more recently been saving bookmarks in my browser and am definitely going back to saving them in text files.

If a thread has information that I want to make a hard copy of I use the Show Printable feature under Thread Tools and print it with something like PDF Creator and save a copy to a folder on my 'puter. Then if I need I can email or print a hard copy. and that way I have a backup if something happens to the forum or I happen to be without internet access
