up-loading photos
I'm trying to figure out how to up load pictures. It's really confusing to me, maybe I'm just not familiar enough with the forum. I just don't see a way to do it yet. Can some one help me out?
Thanks!

"Attaching Photo Gallery Photos"...in 10 easy steps.
Everybody has a slightly different way of doing it...here's mine
1. First of all, you need to prepare your photos in whatever program you use, (Photo Shop, Paint Shop, etc.) The photos need to be oriented properly and usually scaled down from your digital camera. Usually about 300 x 500 pixals will work fine. If it's too big, it'll take up your allowable space (2MB total for all photos) and you won't get as many photos uploaded. Usually if you keep your photo size down to 25kb or less, you'll be fine. Put the photos somewhere where you can find them by browsing your folders.
Then, you're ready to go to the Forum.
2. Go to the "Forums" section and click on "Members Photo Albums".
3. Check to make sure you are "Logged In". If not, do so, the login is the same as with AirstreamForums.com.
4. In the top right hand corner, click on "Upload Photos". This will take you to a screen that allows you to attach your photo and add your description. From here, it's pretty much just fill-in the blanks.
5. Chose your appropriate "Catagory" from the drop-down menu. Most likely the default "Members Photo Gallery" will be fine.
6. Click on the "Browse" button and go find your first photo where ever you put it on your computer above. This attaches it to be uploaded. If you want them in a special order, this is the last photo you want to show.
7. Enter the "Title" for the photo. This is the bold name right under the photo once it's uploaded.
8. Next, the "Descriptive Words" this are where you should put your trailer make or other "searchable key words" for locating a particular photo using the "search" tool.
9. Then the the "Description". This is where you can be more verbous in your detailed description of the photogragh.
10. Last click "Upload/Submit" and you should be good to go!
Once you get thru it once, you'll be fine...feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

"Attaching Photos to a post or thread"...in 4 easy steps
1. Again you need to make sure the photo isn't too big as in step #1 above.
2. Click the "Post Reply Button" at the bottom of the appropriate thread.
3. A window pops up to reply to the thread. You'll see the box that you type in called "Your Reply". Below that box is one called "Attach File" with a "Browse..." button. Click on the "Browse..." button and locate the photo on your computer that you want to attach. The name & location should show up in the little window.
4. After that, just click the "Submit Reply" button as with a normal post.
Good Luck ~

**Here I Am Again**
Here I am again trying to up-load a photo or two and I'm getting lost in cyber world.
I've already up-loaded some photos at a previous time, however, I've been trying again and I can't find the link that says "Upload Photos."
I am logged on and I went to forums as InsideOut instructed and then I clicked on "Members Photo Albums." and I can't find the link what is happening? Is it just me or what?

Bill,
Upload function for the photo forum is not available at this time. Andy needs to restore some software that creates the thumbnail photo. Once he gets this done he will reenable the upload function.
Regards,
Jack

Just a reminder
Silvertwinky
InsideOut gave you excellent points.
I might add this;
If you use .jpeg or .jpg file extention for your fotos, it helps to keep them smaller. Take a look at this site.
jpeg cruncher
BTW, I always "save my fotos" to a file that's easy to find like: SAVE101 instead of labeling the files "vacation trip, etc.
Don't feel too bad about getting lost in cyberworld..I can still remember back in the early days (mid90's) having this young lady from MO, trying to explain to me just how to "open" the file to view the picture she was sending me..lol
I vowed then, to learn all I could about the technique..Then, went on to learn how to create web pages, etc. Even to the point of learning how to use "lake effects" with pictures that I uploaded on my website. That took me several months of frustrations~!~
I'm sure you'll get the hang of it quickly~
ciao

What is the latest story on the Airstreamphotos site? Someday here soon I may finish my polishing project and actually be ready to post some more pics! Is it just me or is it down for the count?

The Airstream photos site is down for now. Andy is installing a newer version of the site software and uploading the old photos. There were alot of photos! It will be back up, but there may be some forum downtime that proceeds the restoration of the photo site as well.
Watch for a news flash regarding the exact bat-date, and bat-time that this will occur.

To upload photos, go to the AirstreamPhotos.com site. Click on "login" in the upper right corner. Once logged in, the screen that comes up has "Download Photos" in the upper right portion of the screen. Click on that, and proceed.

"Attaching MULTIPLE Photos to a post"...in 5 slightly more complicated steps
Okay...so here's another "Photos 101" post...this one is intended for people who are already comfortable with posting single photos in a thread and posting photos in your gallery.
First, post your photos to your AirstreamPhotos.com Gallery per "Attaching Photo Gallery Photos...in 10 easy steps" above. (Posted 5/5/2003)
OR
Upload your photos to another domain server if you have access to one.
2. Click the "Post Reply Button" at the bottom of the appropriate thread.
3. A window pops up to reply to the thread. You'll see the box that you type in called "Your Reply".
4. Instead of using the "Browse" button at the bottom of the window to insert a single photo per "Attaching Photos to a post or thread"...in 4 easy steps" above, insert your photos using the "IMG" button at the top. This will direct the post to the server and upload the photos from there. As JodynJeep posted in another thread:
Quote:
To add multiple pics just add multiple [ img ] with http://url (if in the Airstream photo album - drill down to the image and right click on pic and bring up properties - it will give you the url and you can clip and paste it... I typically open a notepad file and get all the pics urls - add descriptions and paste back into post) end with the [ /img ] without the spaces....
|
5. After that, just click the "Submit Reply" button as with a normal post.
Good Luck ~

How 'bout albums?
Hi, all!
I want to upload photos of another four or five trailers/MH I've had, but I want to put them in each in their own album.
When I originally uploaded my photos, there was an option for creating and managing user albums, and I made one. I can't seem to find it now. Is it gone, or am I just looking in the wrong places?
