It's a little embarrasing to admit, but I have no idea how to include a picture when asking for help (or whatever). Could someone please tell me? Thanks!
It's not hard. When you make a post, before you hit "submit reply" or "start new thread", scroll down the page a little bit, and you will see a button marked "manage attachments".
When you click that, you will get a pop-up that will allow you to browse your computer, and add photos. When you are done browsing, and selecting your photos, you can hit the "upload" button. When it is done uploading, it will either tell you the photos are uploaded, or are too large and need to be resized. You can modify your photos if needed, and upload again, then click "close window". Then you can hit "submit reply" or "start new thread", kind of like this:

I've figured out how to post pictures ok, but how do you write, post a few pictures, then more writing, and more pictures? Instead of all the writing together, and all pictures together.

I was wondering that too, JB. They make much more sense to post a picture directly related to that part of the comment and have other pictures and comments together.

I recall some very effective longer posts, like How to modify and install rock guard on minuet, that used a single picture per post. I have presented some more complex ideas where multiple points were a succession of posts that needed no interruption by stray posters. I posted at a slow time of day in that case. I'd think it'd be possible to enlist the assistance of a moderator to re-order posts if you have a great and noble cause to lay out, but were interrupted by another post.
I never can get a picture to post to my thread always tells me the file is to large. ? How do I get my pictures smaller/
I use MS Office Picture Manager. Click Picture on the top toolbar and then select Compress Pictures.
What program do you use? Most (I think) have an option to compress pictures.
The basic "Paint" program in Windows doesn't have the option to shrink pictures (at least not that I can find)

You can use Windows Paint to resize a photo. Photos posted to the forum must be 1024 x 1024 and less than 300 K.
Open your photo with Paint, along the top menu click on Image, then choose Attributes. Change the numbers (evenly) to 1024 x 1024 or what ever you want to reduce it to and save it (preferably with a different name so you do not lose the original).
Good Luck

That just crops the photo, you lose part of the picture that way. That will work if you have extra in the photo that you can trim out, but it doesn't work if the whole picture is just to large (byte or MB size)

Janet is correct, resize is resize. When you resize a pictre it will get smaller, but you will suffer in quality......

????
This is what always happens when I use Attributes in MS Paint

My daughter (who is computer literate) downloaded a program for me called IrfanView. It works easily to downsize pictures & it's a free download. I actually was able to put some pictures in my profile all by myself! I think I'll try one in a post now & see if it works.....

Missed this thread earlier...but it looks like this question was never really answered.
The way you post text then pics, (like this)
then more text (or oversized pictures) is to link to them uploaded on a webserver other than the AirstreamForums. If you have a webpage posted somewhere, just use that server space to store your upload photos and link to them in your posts here. To post here, use the "Insert Picture" (the little yellow button w/mountians & sun) and type in that location. For me, as an example, the above picture is located at http://www.insideout-design.net/maxw...dinnerspot.jpg. You do this instead of using the "Manage Attachments" easy post technique which is a feature built-in to this forum program. It hosts the picture on the forum server and limits the way they can be served.
You can also store your pictures in the members gallery at http://www.airforums.com/photos/ and link to them there. One thing to consider though, is if you move them off the remote server at a later date, they will no longer show in your posts here. For this reason IMO, it may be better to use the server (and the "Manage Attachments" easy post technique) here to store pictures posted here, that way if your website server changes, your pictures aren't lost in space. It's an easier "no muss, no fuss" method for those not as savvy in writing or working with .html
Make sense? The bottomline is, you have to have a remote server to do so.
Shari
