Firefox and Log In Problems
If you are using Fire Fox and their saved user name and password feature I have a question.
Recently the saved UN & PW feature will not work on this Forum. It works on almost all other sites, exceptions be those sites that require much higher security such as financial sites. What it does now rather than a straight log in, when I go to the site, is presents the Forum log in page and a soon as I type the first letter of my UN it presents that in a drop down box. If I double click that it will then complete the automatic log in.
I have removed and reset this function several times without results. Each time I reset it Fire Fox asks in the normal manor if I want to save the UN & PW and I select yes but the above happens when I sign in the next time. Has the Forum changed anything that would cause this to happen?

Boy, I don't know, it has always worked for me, on several devices.
The only thing I can think of is maybe a corrupt Firefox load. Maybe uninstall and reinstall?

My Firefox is still logging in to Airforums automatically, Howie. We'll see what happens after their latest update.

Make sure you have the "keep me logged in" box checked.

That function works as long as I have not closed the Forum.
Another interesting situation. If I get a PM notification and go to open that I get the log in page with my UN & PW already printed and all I have to do is click and the Forum opens.
I have considered reloading FF but am not sure I know how to save all my bookmarks and favorites. There is a lot of them.

Do you only have it with this Forum or have you seen it on other sites. I ask this as I am attempting to determine if it is a FF or Forum problem.

You can back up your bookmarks, they will be backed up as a json file. Click "bookmarks", "show all bookmarks", double click "bookmarks menu,", then click "back up bookmarks".

I saved the Bookmark Tool Bar and when I attempted to save the bookmarks it said the file exists and do I want to replace it. Can I assume that both the Bookmark Tool Bar and the Bookmarks are now saved in that single file?

It'll ask if you want to back up to html or not. I've emailed the json files to myself to keep from losing them, just in case it didn't save like it should have.

The json file has been saved to my desktop but I can not open it to see if both the Bookmark Tool Bar and Bookmark information are in it.
Can I just assume they are there and blast ahead with a reload?

I back my bookmarks up with Xmarks. Came in real hand the year I lost both my desktop and laptop in quick succession.
FWIW I am running FF 11.0 on an XP machine and don't have the log in problems. However I have switched to Chrome and have been happier with it.

Did the removal and reload of FF. Got Air Forums saved PW to work but did not get all of those I had before to work.
Another question. In the FF setup there does not seam to be any options to manage cookies. How do I manage them with the new FF?

I just downloaded Xmarks. It looks like a great way to save and manage bookmarks. Thanks for the tip, Aaron.

Clearing cookies is part of the removing recent history option on the tools drop down. There will be a dialog box where you can select what you wish to remove.
Note: This is the option on Ver 12
