still fewer voting and really weak trends.

while some are cute...

are ANY tag lines?

slogans perhaps, but it seems there is a difference.

jingles and slogans work because they get repeated over and over...

and substitute for the product name. they also seem to phase in/out or change regularly.

like

'where quality is job one'.....is?
'just do it' .....is?
'it's the real thing'......is?
'your in good hands with'..........is?

my understanding is a tagline conveys WHAT/WHO/WHY the product...

perhaps really well known brands like nike or coke or allstate or ford don't need taglines, we know what they make/do.

they have NAME recognition, so changing slogans keep em fresh and in our minds.

the forums are THE airstream KNOWLEDGE SHARING NETWORK.

that one really really works. and still does.

the last 2 rounds of offerings are more slogan like than

catchy descriptive phrases....

seems to me an effective tag line for a site that has intentionally left OUT the product name...

must convey WHAT the site is about....

"airforums.com....log on for alluminum" is a slogan (and not a very good one)

"airforums.com....the place for everything airstream" is a slogan with 'tagline' like features (still not very good)

"airforums.com...THE airstream knowledge sharing forums" is a real tag line.

sorry but i think we are adrift now in cute phrases....

use 'em all, but reopen the search for a real TAGLINE.

or better describe what/how/where the catchy phrase is intended to work...

cheers
2air'

I agree with 2air'...

THE airstream KNOWLEDGE SHARING NETWORK...that would be the best!

As highly as A/S inc spoke of this website (AirForums) at our dealer meetings, it suprises me that they don't want us using the "Airstream" name...

They even used our front page of this site in one of their slides at the dealer meeting on Friday...

Maybe we someone needs to talk to someone else again...

Did that last statement make sense???

Thanks for letting us have some input Andy. Regardless of which way this goes, it is fun to be a part of it.

i don't think there is a tagline in the final round so my vote is witheld.

hopefully andy will select an appropriate tagline of his own choosing because i think the choices in the final round are cliche at best.

Triple A

That's what I've decided to call all the Apathic American Airstream owners who refuse to vote for a tagline! Even if you don't like the ones posted in this final round you could a least say so! There are a lot of members out there and only 217 have cast a vote for one of the taglines in this final round! What's the matter "Cat got your Mouse"! I think you should all get off the fence and vote for one. Or you could all just throw your support behind mine! It's really a "Humdinger".... All Aluminum All the Time. This has been a paid political announcement. I'm BigEd52 and I approve of this message!

The votes are in....

You're just jealous because I have a daughter who lives in Dayton. What you don't know is I still haven't seen them yet as she had to postpone her trip to the Quad Cities until the end of July. So you still may be able to bribe one out of me with some reading lights. I'll let you know once I eyeball them in person. Happy Trails, Ed

another round?

I for one would like to have the final round be the top two taglines.

Some of us, who didn't vote for either of the top two would like our vote to count.

Please.....

Steve

Help needed!

Hey all you Forums members out there! I need some help with the distance (gap) in votes that has appeared between my tagline entry and the current leader. So if about sixteen or more of you could place your votes for All Aluminum All the Time then we could make this a real horse race!!!! Thanks, Ed

Aluminating Discussions & Riveting Friends...

Seems to be way ahead...

Shamelessly begging in second place...

There you will find BigEd...

Burma Shave

G

On Edit: By the way...I'm in third place right behind you! And I agree with some...none of these are true taglines!

Yep..... That's true mine is ahead of yours...!

But the real point was to try to get others to participate. If that seems like shameless begging so be it! Better that than indifference! And better to suffer the barbs and arrows... because that means you are out front taking the chance! Hi Ho Silver aways meant... Into the fray! Where better to lead from than in the front! I have no problem with asking the members here to help keep this race interesting. So if aluminating friends and riveting discussions truly is what the group decides on for a Tagline I have no problem with that. Oh, Silly me I seem to have mixed up that confusing line! Well, wet me down and roll me in flour.... and call me the Pillsbury Doughboy! Happy Trails, Ed

I just wanted to let you all know that the poll is still open to give our members who attended the International Rally last week time to get home and back on the forums. I plan to close the poll towards the end of next weekend and announce the winner next week.

I like "Got Air?"

Simple, to the point, includes everyone...and encourages non-airstreamers to get one.

the post in the lead has only 27% votes for it. i'd hate to see a tagline (which isn't even on this list by the way) be adopted for this site that only received 27% of votes.

David, thanks for your input, I noticed there are a few with the same opinion. Although it would be interesting to see what better options our members could come up with, it's only fair to close this vote, determine the winner and move forward. I personally like all the taglines that made it to the final round (no matter how obscure they might be).

Andy,

Can we have a vote with the top two contenders going head to head. Many people who voted for one not in the top two would like thier vot to count.

Can anyone second this?

Steve
