Fake AV pop ups on here

I have gotten two fake antivirus software popup adds in the last 5 mins while on these forums. I don't know if it is just me or if there is some unintentional malware that has gotten into the forums.

I’m increasingly perturbed by the amount of advertising taking up space on the forums, especially on or right after people’s posts! It’s like the ads are becoming more prominent than the forum itself... they’re taking over the vehicle that gives ‘em a ride...

Kind of like a malignant cancer...

The only ads I see are the RV related ads on the right side of the page. Perhaps the AdBlock add-on is helpful in this regard?

You should not be seeing any popups. While I suppose some bad ads could creep in, we do not accept this type of advertising. I strongly recommend that you scan your system.

Malwarebytes | Free Anti-Malware & Internet Security Software has a good a free tool for this.

One of the benefits of joining as a "supporting member" is that those ads between the posts go away.

There are still some small ones down the right margin, all pertaining more or less directly to Airstreaming and quite easy to overlook.

It was a government machine so you would think it would be pretty virus free. I am not one to surf questionable websights at work.

Any chance you were looking at classifieds when you saw this? There is a prompt there that "pops up" if you aren't logged in that asks you to sign up for e-mail updates... But you should never see pop ups on the forums.
