eBay watch link doesn't work?
Has anyone else noticed that the "Go to this auction" link that the eBay watch posts don't work? They take you to eBay's main page, instead of that sale...

Yes, I get the same thing. The only thing I can do is to copy the lead line and paste it directly into Ebay in order to see the item.

I get this question, about once a day:
It doesn't matter how I answer it, like others have said, I copy the quote in the announcing post and use it to search ebaY.

I've had the same issue. Just tried the link and still go to the eBay sign in screen rather than directly to the item listed. I had thought it was because we're using Safari as a web browser now. I just tried it on a PC with Internet Explorer 8.0 and get the same results -- linking to eBay sign in screen rather than the item listed.

I thought the same thing.....I am not supposed to get another AS, so when the link doesn't work, I can't be tempted......I have found that I can search with the name and that sometimes works but frankly, I am better off not knowing what is available........pj

it seems this problem has a long history. my reply was more a reminder for the mods to verify it was on the list of things to do. maintaining this stuff is harder than gardening!

And sometimes they are. I've found I have to check those by clicking on the "finished events" or whatever they call it. If someone pulled the plug on the BIN, or if the seller pulled the item, or it just expired, well...

I've tried it both while logged into Ebay and not; the result is the same: The redirect is to the Ebay home page for me. (I'm using IE8.)
This is evidently something different because it was not always this way. I used to be directed to the product page.

I just tried again today @ home and it worked again (yesterday I tested it at work; worked as well).
One computer's OS is Vista and the other is XP. I use Firefox on both computers (v 3.6) and have been an eBay member for too many years....

Ah - I suspect many people are using IE -
I just did a quick test - I dusted off my Internet Explorer (7.0) and lo and behold - it did *not* work.
