Community downtime this weekend...
I will be upgrading all the software that runs on our site this weekend. Please expect the forums to be down from late this evening till Sunday. Sorry I could not give more notice but this is being done some lots of new features can be rolled out in the weeks to come.
Hopefully the weather is night and this makes for a good excuse to go camping!

I am still working on things....
Boy upgrades are way more fun then a few years ago now that I live and breathe forum software. We are up and running on the newest version but there will be little things that I have to iron out.
I wanted to open the forums ASAP so that everyone could get to the info, but please be patient as I get lot of little things fixed.
Things I am working on right now:
- Photo Gallery
- Links Software
- Small little things around the forums...

Andy, When you get time, would you make a post what enhancements were made? Anything a member would notice or be able to use or is it all internal? Thanks, Dennis On Edit, I noticed that the linefeeds are now eaten.

I like the new 'attachment guide' when posting pictures. Nice feature!
Looks like the 'smilies' need to be rebuilt??
On edit: Ooooh! We can edit our posts in the same window as the thread.

None of the "buttons" on the Reply to thread screen will work in Firefox except the preview and submit ones. But appear to work in IE...Missing some of the smiles on the right just get the names or place holders in IE

'Insert Link' ??
When attempting to 'Insert Link' in a post, the 'Script Prompt' only allows the URL to be entered --- no 'Name' as previously.

Norm! (as the Cheers gang would yell...)
Per Andy's answer in another thread there are a few things he's still working on after last night's downtime for maintenance. I see that smilies, underlines, etc are back. I'm sure the hyperlink will soon be back to normal.
A workaround is to place the text title you want for the hyperlink in the right-side of the result. For example, change
URL="http://www.airforums.com/"]http://www.airforums.com/[/URL to URL="http://www.airforums.com"]Millionaire's Lifeline

Hi Andy: What keys do I push to again be able to view a nice vertical series of actual text posts stacked one atop another like on the old Forum, instead of being able to see the text of only one post underneath an irrelevant post tree? I get enough mouse exercise as is, and would rather spend my time reading a stack of text instead of looking at branches on a tree and having to cursor to view each and every individual text post. I'm more interested in what people have to say than the structure underlying any particular thread. Thanks,

Well, there is is! Maybe all I had to do was log in again. I'll reserve my question now for as long as the old format continures to appear on my screen.

In Internet Explorer you can force a refresh by hitting the F5 key. I am not sure how to do this in Firefox (I am sure there is a similar function). I will work on the smilies later...

A default setting was changed. I changed it back to linear mode (oldest to newest) so others that had customized their settings (it looked like around 30 members) will have to change their settings back...

Not as much of a reset but I had to type in my user name and current password. Be sure to check the remember me box. I had to do this Saturday morning on my home PC and this morning on my work PC. I think that info is kept in a cookie on your local disk drive. I'm assuming the new software does not recognize the old cookie. By checking the remember me box you get a new cookie the first time you log onto the new software version.

I wanna go home......
Hi Andy,
I use to click home to return to the new thread list. Is there a new way?
Is there a reason why we won't need that? Or am I just too impatient
to wait for you to wow us? Or....Am I just a dope? Dave

Dave depending upon what you want to see you can either click on the portal tab at the top of the page or click on new posts.....or am I missing the boat on your question?
