The home key is at the bottom blue bar of the page and it takes me to the same place that the portal tab does.

Too many platforms, right Andy?
Gee'se Louise sovereignrwe (Mark & Kimber) -- Only resetting a password? No problem mon... The minor hassles and incompatibilities of Firefox make me want to go back to Apple!! Back when there was only a Palo Alto Research Center (inventors of the mouse) I had a 512K Macintosh. And even then their Paint program was miles ahead of the stupid kludge-ware that PCs bundle onboard these days! Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak -- I apologize for ever doubting thee...
I hear that there is a new up-and-coming alternative to Internet Explorer (by some former Mozilla employees). Okay, I'll ride this laptop to its grave Bill Gates, but after that all bets are off!

On my home computer running XP, no problem. On my work computer using 2000, it's a problem. In Internet Explorer, you can go to Tools>>Internet options>>Delete Cookies. Try that and see if, after reloading your cookie, it performs properly. (this deletes ALL cookies, remember).
P.S. Hey Look, I got another rivet with this post! This must be a new milestone. I'm sooo proud.

I'm confused, ... and no it's not the drugs....
I am curious as to why I go to #1 when opening a thread and not the the most current comment. Am I supposed to be doing something different? Sometimes I like to read through the whole thread, but sometimes not. Any easy solution?
I thought I finally understood how to get from one place to another, but I guess I need a map.

Beth, if you click on the blue arrow next to the name of the last poster in the thread, it will take you to the last post in the thread. If you click on the thread name, it takes you to the top of the thread.

Silver,
go into your "User CP" (button is to the top left) then go to "Edit Options" about half way down the page there is a section called "Thread Display Options" in the third section choose "linear newest first" from the pull down menu.... This was one of the "things" that got reset during the upgrade.

Is there an update glitch?
I have noticed that since the upgrade, when I post a reply, the reply or entire thead is absent from the new post list, whereas before they would show up right away. Just wondering if this is a glitch or if I have something set wrong on my puter. Thanks

Rodney if I understand correctly...you may have "stale" cookies and need to clear out your cache as well as log out and reenter your log in name and password.

Cleared cookies, logged back in: no dice. Threads are still vanishing after I post. Sometimes they show up in the portal but not under new post.

After you hit submit try refreshing the screen. I've noticed that after I submit a post, it shows up BEFORE the first post of a thread until I refresh - then it falls into order.

I believe the reason they don't show up under new posts is that YOU have already read it, so it's no longer new. This new version is 'smarter' than the old one and has some features that we will all need to get used to...I love the 'older posts, but I haven't read them yet feature'! And will wait until Andy gets some of the other kinks out before throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Shari is right, this new version of the software uses a new 'smarter' database driven model to tag which posts you have read and which posts you have not. When you reply the system assumes you have read the posts and therefore marks them as unread.
I will be working on lots of the kinks in the days to come, so look for some updates and better instructions soon...

My password actually didn't work. I was even using copy and paste direct from the email so I knew both were correct.
I had to reset the password and the new password allowed me in.
Sounds like I may have been an anomaly.

Why doesn't my "new post" show?
The first attachment is of the "new post" listing. Notice my 2:05 pm posting is not included.
The second attachment is of the "posts of the last day" that shows my 2:05 pm post.
Unfortunately, the files attached don't have the quality I see in my files. The second record in the second image is my 2:05pm post. It does not show in the first image.
I know that it is often better when troubleshooting to see the problem, thus the attempt to provide screen shots.

FYI... the previous post did however show in the "new post" listing, which according to some answers in this thread it should not, because I had already "read" the thread.
