Classifieds communications

To an ADMINISTRATOR, How can I be sure that a ad poster has received my message wanting to purchase there posted item? Earlier today an ad was placed by nplice for a RM75 refrigerator that they wished to sell. I responded to the ad in the classified section and a message stated that my message was sent to nplice. Later today I got a warning message from the AirForums regarding scams and a long winded beware statement about the same. It is now 6:17 p.m. and I have no reply from the seller. The last time I tried to message a seller regarding items I wanted to buy no return acknowledgement from any sellers to my request to buy items were ever received by me. So now I am gun shy and need to know the other member got my request to buy. Can you shed any light on this issue. Janet told me that this issue is resolved a few weeks back but I don't want to lose another purchase from this issue. Please advise as to how I can assure the receipt of my message to the seller? Thanks, Ed

That seems to have become the norm here. People join, place ads and then they seem to disappear. More than a bit annoying. There needs to be some form of vetting new members before they are allowed to place ads for sale. I would suggest a minimum of 20 post prior to placing ads. It is a very common and exceptable practice on other Internet forums.

Here's another one. I responded to an ad with a question and received a reply as to why I was trying to change his ad. A very curt reply. Jim

I asked a question of someone, and a couple of days later I got an answer. Not everyone is able to log in several times a day, and sometimes someone isn't able to log in for a couple of days. My suggestion, BIGED52, is to wait for another day or two. If you don't hear back by Wednesday or Thursday then you can start getting concerned.

Another possibility in the case of a coach is that someone else may have made an offer before your question arrived at the seller's edress. That buyer, of course, takes priority over all other inquiries. It would be polite for the seller to respond to all others with a brief note that the coach is sold.
