Chat room access - update Java now

Our chat software has recently been updated and some folks are having trouble logging in.

You must have the newest version of Java enabled on your computer (Version 5.0 Update 9). You may need to update your Java software. You can do this by going to the Java website www.java.com and downloading and installing the latest version of Java. This is a free download.

If you have a pop up stopper - it may prevent the chat window from opening.

You must be logged onto the forums before you can enter the chat room.

The new chat features are nifty and make the chat room a little easier to use.

The chat room features are super colorful and cool..so how do we get colorful text?

Attempting the installation in Firefox I got an alert window that Java was having a problem with my proxy settings and to refer to the Java download instructions (they offered no info on this problem). I followed the path thru Tools/Options/General and selected Connection Settings. I toggled to remove 'Direct Internet Connection' and selected 'Auto-detect proxy settings for this network.' The download then worked properly.

Remember to restart your browser. You can go back to www.java.com's download center to verify installation. Chat worked the first time.
