Change Username / Transfer Subscribed Threads

Hi Mods,

First, let me say that I am very thankful for this forum. Although I do not yet have experience to be able to contribute, Airstream Forums is my main research tool for going fulltime with an Airstream.

I am trying to be consistent with my username on the forums that I visit. I initially registered Shovel Bum for the Airstream Forum and also just registered shovelbum; I know it's a trivial difference. Is there a way to transfer my subscribed threads from Shovel Bum to shovelbum and close Shovel Bum? Maybe it's easier somehow to cancel the new shovelbum account and change the username on the Shovel Bum account to shovelbum.

By the way, shovelbum is slang for an archaeological field hand/technician who travels from one dig to another as required by work on different projects. The majority of the work that interests me is in the Southwest and work at a given dig site can last from 5 days to 5 months depending on the project. For me this is ideally suited for Airstream Life.

Thanks very much for your help and please let me know if there are any questions.

I think he means he wishes to be known as "Shovel Bum" not "shovelbum" but a rose is a rose

...hence my funny line which was a commentary on how many times shovel bum or shovelbum appeared in the post.

he/she actually wants to be known as "shovelbum" not "Shovel Bum".

by the way, shovelbum is a good name however you decide to spell it

Aw come on, quit picking on the newbie guys!

I checked the members list and it appears another admin may had already taken care of this for you as I don't see "Shovel Bum" as a member - only shovelbum. However, if you never made any posts using your "Shovel Bum" UserID, it may not show up anyways.

If you still need some help, please PM me and I will help get it straightend out. No biggie...

By the way...sounds like you have a very interesting job...do you get to "full-time" with you trailer while on the digs? Pretty cool...what treasures have you found?

Happy posting!

Shari

Joe, I'll say welcome to the Forums again!

Yes, Shari -- all taken care of last night. Joe & I had an exchange on the help desk and he acknowledged the change had taken place as planned.

Welcome again as your new self. Please disregard the remarks from the "peanut gallery". Some people (myself included) spend way too much time here.
