Can't Post
The site replies with "this is a duplicate of a message you sent in the last five minutes" even though this isn't the case. It works sometimes with Safari on mac, but apparently not with Explorer on mac?
Thanks,
Carlos Ferguson

I have the same problem with IE on WinXP. It happens while starting a new post, and while replying to existing threads. It's intermittant, and once I had my post appear later after I had gotten that message. Weird problem.

Post in limbo..
I had problem after trying to compose a posting and losing it.. When I found it and tried to post, I got the duplicate message, implying it was in a cache somewhere in Explorer... Copied text into clipboard, saved in notepad, logged out and shut down, came back and re-pasted the post... Chalked it up to mystery of life with computers...

Me too. The only way I can get anything printed is to find a thread already in progress and add to it. My new threads are always "cancelled". I thought it was just me because I am NOT computer literate by any means. Judy

Yeah, but I'm getting sick of it! Cannot post a new thread at all! Either I get the duplicate post message, or it eventually accepts the post and then sends it to a cyber graveyard, never to be seen! I'm using netscape 7.1 with XP pro..... I'm beginning to feel paranoid! But then, maybe I do have a cause......

Same here but only in certain forums. I can post in motorhome sections but not in community or for sale, or interior restoration, etc. Running WinXP and IE 6 sp2

Running XP and using Mozilla
Can't get my question to post in the International Section, either. Just get the same duplicate post message that others have mentioned. I was able to post to that section a few days ago, though!?! So it is a new development. I started a new thread under the community polls yesterday which did post.

This is probably why the post volume seems to have been lower the past week. Seems like I come to check on the forum and there's hardly been any posts between visits.

Can't Post
I tried to start a thread yesterday and again today but I had the same problem others are having and my threads were "disappeared." Any idea what's going on, or when it will stop?

Ditto
Same problem. I'm using Safari on Mac, running OSX 10.3.8, the latest version available. First try yielded just a blank screen. Second try got me the "duplicate" message. Does the list manager ever read these???

post, repost.
Well... At least it isn't just a problem with my machine. I have been having mixed results. If the post doesn't "take", I go back until I am at the page with my typing, copy the text, reload that same page which will reload as blank, paste the text back in (changing a word or two for good measure) and then try again. Sometimes this works.
Good Luck.

Can't read my private mail either
Tried to read a private message sent to me yesterday - can't get in. Tried to log out and back in, with no success. Tried to post a new thread and couldn't.

Is this a Mozilla problem. Just installed Mozilla Browser. Works great everywhere else... When I try to post I get a grayed out text box. Any suggestions? IE works posting...

I have been able to post replies to ongoing threads but have not been able to start a new thread (motorhomes section). I tried three times and got the above mentioned message each time.
I tried to find out what the problem is by sending a message (Contact Us) to the forum admin. several days ago: received no reply.

Same thing here.
It seems like we all have the same problem running different OS's and different "Explorers".
I am using XP Home SP2 with IE 6 at home.
At work I am using XP Pro SP1 with IE6.
Go figure!

Houston, we have a problem.
eight days of members posting a serious prob with the site and no response from Andy or the mods?
I remember the good old days when reported problems like this got immediate attention, even if it was only a "we're working on it" reply.
I'm on a broadband connection but am experiencing probs with slow loading, attaching smilies, inserting hyperlinks, side scrolling, "server too busy" etc. Any relief in sight?

There have been other posts from Andy in this specific forum regarding the problems that have been reported. Unfortunately since its software related and since the software developers have to address these problems, there isn't much more feedback we can give. If your problem is new then you probably will get something back. If its the same problem that has been reported over and over, and has been commented on earlier by Andy or the moderators, you may not get a direct response back....especially when it was posted that the problem had been turned into the software developers.
Keep in mind on problems of the magnitude we've been handling, Andy is the only source of information since the server is at his locale. The moderators in many cases know no more that you and in some cases are experiencing the same problems. I know specifically, since I lost this post last night due to a "server busy" error and eventually had to give up for the night.
The forum members will be notified when fixes for these issues come about. Unfortunately we are dealing with the developers who march to the beat of their own drummer.
Hope this explains the seemingly lack of response from us.
Regards,
Jack

Thanks for the response, Jack. The problems seem to have started with the latest server change and the addition of other forums on the same server. Andy posted some time back that if the problems continued, he would look into a dedicated server for ASF. I'm wondering if that is still under consideration?
I know that it's expensive but I would be very willing to chip in if that might be the best solution. I just hate to see my favorite website going downhill. I don't think serious members would object to more adsvertising to defray the cost of a dedicated server.
It's obvious that members are getting more and more disgruntled as the problems continue and I hope a solution can be found soon.
Cordially, Rog
BTW, I had to make several attempts to get this posted due to "server too busy".

Ahhh, it's an undocumented feature of the software I hate those!
Only a minor inconvenience. I'm sure you guys will sort it out.
Thanks in advance!
