Well, I can't start a new thread like so many others, but there's something I want to share with friends on the forum who also enjoy photography and space. Type in this address and see some really cool Hubble photos. Be sure and have your speakers on! Yes, I tried to do this on the Off Topic forum, but can't get anything to work anymore! So. . .
<http//wires.news.com.au/special/mm/030811-hubble.htm> Hope it works for you!

maxandgeorgia, I think the link you're referring to is:
http://wires.news.com.au/special/mm/...ubble.htm#end1
It's really nice but takes a while to load.

YipppEEE! I can use "post reply". I can access my PMs off the front page. Everything seems to be working. (I didn't try starting a new thread, though.)

I still can't post new threads. I'm getting frustrated that I am only able to respond to existing threads, but everytime I try to start a new one I get the duplicate error message. I just tried four times to post a new thread, until I gave up. What's the deal?

I lost my post this morning
After I hit submit after writing my post for a new thread I get no forum specified and then it is lost. I didn't want to rewrite it. It's happened to me at least the last four times I tried to start a subject.

I'd say before posting a "reply"..save a copy of it..Just in case..

FWIW, I've had similar problems as well..

Good Idea Vern
Hi Vern,
On occassion I have saved posts by copying. But the thing is, if I can't post a new thread, just what am I saving it for?

Been having problems posting for last few weeks. Just tried again and sill not able to do so. Sometimes it indicated the server is busy and other times, if I enter again,is states that it is a duplicate.

When I have had problems it hasn't been solid forever situation. If I keep trying it seems that a post will eventually go. So if my initial post fails, I go back and start the thread again and paste in the message that I copied to the clipboard and then hit submit. It saves rekeying in the message.
Now I have had situations where I have just given up since I can't get it to post, and in those cases copying it provides no help.

That's the thing, I saved my post, but after four tries (and I'm on dial-up, so it's not exactly quick to be loading these pages over and over) I just gave up. I've probably NOT started five or six threads because of this problem. It's just frustrating!

feel your pain
I had to post mine twice before it appeared. That was last Monday. First one disappeared into thin cyberspace. Now, if somewould could just help me with my toliet problem...otherise I'm on my own yanking it out Sunday! It's under "general repair" '67 Safari renovation - porbably should have just stuck it into the bathroom/plumbing area but I know in time it'll stray off that thread....

Look under search for "toilet removal help requested". I found some good info there for you. I haven't gotten to the bathroom on my Argosy yet. I may come to you for help, so find out what you're doing so I can pick your brain. Judy

I am looking into this. I have a feeling it has to do with hard drive write bandwidth. I am pllain on installing some new 15,000 RPM SCSI drives in a RAID 5 soon (within 30 days).
Sorry for the troubles. I do undertand how frustrating it can be and will try to find a solution ASAP.

Thanks, Andy. Good to know you're on it. I understand these problems aren't your fault, just the burden of fixing them falls on you. And new software and hardware doesn't always cooperate.
That's the problem with a popular forum, people have high expectations! Keep up the great work!

Interesting new issue?
I posted a reply the the "International Changes" thread, when I click on the "submit" button nothing appears to happen, so I copied and closed the window, returned to "Home", the thread still appears in it's location about 1/2 way down the page, still showing "Buttercup" as the last poster, I click on the thread...and there is my reply FWIW I am running XP with Firefox. Not sure if this occurs in IE or not.
On Edit: This post went the way it was supposed too.

Posting to existing threads has not been a problem for me. However, posting pictures has been very fascinating!
The site returns a message that says "could not open page....."
But the post is there, with all the pictures scrambled from the order they were posted. So, it's always editing, and re-posting pictures for a while before a post with picures is actually finished. It's not possible for me right now to keep a sequence in the pictures, but at least I am able to get them to post.

The order has always been a problem. I remember the pictures I posted for the Midwest Forums Rally in 2003. They are not in the order I posted them either. I've never been able to control that.
