App space consumption

The Airforums app is consuming about a gigabyte of space on my iPad and also my iPhone. How do I reduce the space being used?

How does the usage break down, App Size vs. Documents and data?

Wait, you're from Ontario. Maybe it's metric!

No answer, just another question. What's the advantage of the app over just looking at it on a browser?

iPad 1.4 gb documents and data. App size 101 mb.
Don’t understand any of this. Jim

It's mostly cache of the images in threads you've read. The application caches those images so it won't have to download them again when you return to that thread, improving both performance and reducing mobile data usage. If you have plenty of space on your device, it's not really something to worry about. If you're marginal on storage, you can tell the app to clear old cached data.
