I like the new site look...

As far as ads go, they are a necessary part of any website, especially ones that requires no membership fee like the Airforums. I have no problem with Andy making a buck on the website. It is well-deserved. Where would we all hang out if it weren't for the Airforums? Oh, I know...we'd all still be scratching our heads and wondering in isolation how to fix this or that and wishing there was a place where we could go to find information about all things Airstream.

I've also learned to ignore and/or delete things I am not interested in. It's no different that ignoring junk emails... Also there are settings either within a given Forum or on your own computer that will minimize their impact on your viewing pleasure.

I despise ads, I would pay to get RID of them!!!! They are in the same catagory as junk mail. Total waste of bandwidth.

The ads were here before the format was changed. The problem is not the ads—I can ignore them too—it is the narrow format + the page loading has slowed, probably because of the ads.

Well, I'm sure that could be a money maker too - lots of apps work that way.

I don't even see the ads, actually. Might be different on my phone if I was on a browser, but I use the app for looking at it on the iPhone and don't have any problems.

Hehehe, the luggage ad was the same one that was in in the right column.
I"ll just say the new format is more ad friendly.

I also never get ads, and I'm on a PC. I'm more than confused. I think Chrome has some built-in ad blockers that I must have forgotten about. There is some blank space here and there, but that is not an issue as it is not distracting or annoying.

Nothing ever covers my Quick Links. I would know since I go Quick Links--> Subscribed Threads religiously.

Also, the whole having the page thinner thing is noticeable for me because although all my computers are widescreen and I am a fullscreen-the-browser sort of person, my text size is set pretty durn small, so most posts still fit fully in the thread.

I have no issues, but I think I'm one of the few.

So, what's the story with the "Air Portal" link that we are seeing as a tease on some pages? Some new cool add on? Can't wait to see what you guys are up to next.

That is for owners who ordered the Portkey option with their Airstream.

If you don't what that option does, read a Harry Potter book.

email pop up at page bottom

I can't get rid of the email pop up at the page bottom now without signing in.
This just started today and in a real annoyance.
Can we do something about it??

Andy - I just fired up my other computer XP Pro and the same thing.
Click on the close and nothing happens.

I have just cleared cache and cookies and did a CC also and the situation still exists until you sign in.

With all the addons, it is hard to see the meat.

Loading

Not sure this is related to the "new site" but not sure where else to go. I just bought an iMac and of all the sites I have bookmarked in Safari, the Forum is by far the slowest to load.......multiple seconds. Even after loading the main page it is very slow, for example, to load the classifieds.
Any thoughts, or any others experiencing similar problems?

I had Windows updates yesterday and this problem appeared after that.
The update was to restrict unathourized access to your system. Looks like you guys might have been doing something wrong?????

Try Chrome.

I find Safari to be slower on lots of sites. They've improved significantly in the couple of years I've been using a Mac as my primary machine, but I still prefer Chrome.

The close button does not work with Chrome either.
