OK - now I'm confused...

But, we do use cookies to keep you logged in at page changes. When you click the "remember me" box more cookies are exchanged. We had some substantial issue this weekend with the time change and some resets. As far as I can tell, deleting temp internet files and cookies has fixed this most recent problem for members.

Other issues have occured during one of the many server migrations we've had. After a move, pages are not where your computer thinks they are and in some cases not in the place where the software tries to look for them. We try to get them fixed as they are reported.

No Confusion Intended

http://airforums.com/ is how I always contact the airforum site. If I want to send a post, check my CP or some other thing that requires it, I log in. I do not use the "remember me" feature; thus no cooking, cookies, no unseen dialog, and unless you change the URL I am immune to the dreaded 404 error.
I always try for the simple things.
regards

Me Too, quite annoying. I have to delete the word profile from the web address.

I'm not too computer savy, so all I know is I've been having real problems getting to the forums the past few days. Had to access thru a Google search a time or two, but now seems to be back to normal.

I'm still getting it every time I try and access the site (multiple times a day!) I still receive the 404 message, then I click on the link www.airforums.com and am able to connect to the site. I have deleted all cookies. I'm using a PC with internet explorer.

I think I might be addicted to Airforums, can't eat, can't sleep. Might be the intestinal flu or that my beloved Airstream dose is upset.

Gotta run....

I just cleared my AS cookies, emptied the cache, deleted history, relaunched browser, and I still have the 404 problem.

Interestingly, it does not happen if I don't sign in. But once I sign in I get the 404.

This on a Mac G5, OS10.4.x using Safari 2.0.4

Not the end ofthe world I suppose.

Every time I go through my favorites I can no longer sign on this site. I have to go through Google. After I finally get on this site I update my favorites. After shutting down my computer and getting back on at a later time again my favorites will not log me on this site. What has changed from last week?

I know, I know...most people use the portal page.

BUT
if you use "New Posts" or "Today's Posts" or "http://www.airforums-dot-com/forums/" as your bookmark instead of the Portal Page the 404 error does not occur.

But...but...but...if you set your options like below, you will!

Click> 'UserCP' (top left) Check your Karma while you're at it...
Click> 'Edit Options' (left border)
Scroll down to 'Thread Display Options' Set them as below. It will show the 50 latest posts on the first page...you can change this to 10,25,50 or 100 - your choice. Also, if you want to reverse the order of display within the thread, click the 'Linear Oldest First' or 'Linear Newest First'

Thanks for the instructions. It's still not the portal page. I will just have to get used to going to the forum page and then clicking "portal".

Gunter, try deleting the shortcut in your browser. Go thru Google to access the site. Once succesfully on the site, recreate your shortcut. That happened to me once upon a time--my shortcut got wacked somehow.

Someone said cookies, so I went out and bought all of the cookies I could find and ate as many as I possible. The chocolate ones were the best and the chemical reaction was just great . Now I am not having any trouble getting on line, or is it that I don't really care.

Maybe not such a good idea ...

to have eaten all of those cookies. Read the previous postings and you'll see that an essential part of this solution is to then "toss your cookies". This may not be much fun ...

I see where the problem lies.
Not enough Dark Chocolate.
That's the "in" med, nowadays.
Oreo's won't cut it.

For what it's worth, my Error 404 problem went away without doing a thing at my end. Is it still happening with you?

It is gone. Nothing done on our end either. I wonder if the ad or something changed and was causing the issue and now it is fixed?

Anyway...back to normal *as normal as I can be*
